Well, the Dufferin County Museum is typical of county museums. It's housed in an attractive, large barn shaped building with easily accessible public spaces. The public galleries are always in use and generally interesting and attractive. I personally have made use of their research services for family history. In my humble opinion, the residents of Dufferin County and surrounding areas... More

We were staying with relatives near Orangeville and spent a very happy afternoon here. Fascinating view of life in rural Canada. Great reconstruction of an old house - my children (14 and 11) enjoyed the re-creation of life in the old days - even chalk and blackboards (made me feel old).

Nicely laid out. Down in the basement floor, the permanent collection room has a sign saying if you want to go in for a look, let a staff person know. We could peek through the windows & see a LOT of stuff in there ..... which begs the question, why wasn't MORE of it, out on display? They have a... More

We visited the museum for the first time to see a specific special exhibit: "Arresting Images", a series of historic mugshots from Dufferin County Police files along with captions regarding the criminals' history. What we discovered was a series of somewhat unique exhibits regarding the history of local towns and area, including whole buildings of local significance reconstructed inside the... More

Great destination for a drive in the country! Best collection of CORNFLOWER (r) glass ever! Always something nifty in the Gift Shop, too!

The trip back in time - sadly factually within my memories (scary really) for visits to "The Farm". Well presented and ever changing exhibits. Happy I actually took the time to stop after many years of rushing by to be "on time" - suggest you leave early to pop in.

Having recently decided to see what other folks had to say about an area I often travel through I was surprised to find only two reviews. I haven't stopped by in about a year so I went to the website to be certain the museum was still worth a visit and it certainly is. I like the small cases with... More

My wife and I took our two kids (ten and eight) here last week. Everyone had a fair time. The museum is very small, and its collection is quite limited. The old tuck, the cottage, and the art in the silo were the highlights for us. Note that none of the exhibits in the museum are interactive. Be sure to... More
