Skyloft if a perfect place to hang out with your friends. Yes, it may be a little small, but the workers there are very friendly and the hills are the most beautiful out of the three hills in that area. The lesson instructors really give you good tips for how to ski/snowboard and are really patient and nice. Theres also the great houseleague training which gives a perfect introduction to racing. For those of you who want to race I suggest that you do that or the race team, who has very nice coaches who love doing what they do and give the racers perfect experiances. If you do go then please get the poutine because its a REALLY good deal and I found its even better than the Quebec poutine. Id like to say more about my favourite ski hill but I think I've got enough. Don't forget to give Skyloft a try!!

Great experience
Jan 2019 • Family
This was a great experience for my two younger children who have never skied before. Vanessa in the ticket area was wonderful as was the rest of the staff. Everyone, including the lift operators, was very accommodating and extremely friendly. The Groupon was an excellent value, and with the proximity to our place, we would definitely return.

Facilities have not improved
Jan 2019 • Couples
After reading several reviews, some from at least 2 years back, this place has not improved.
I would agree that it's a good deal through groupon if you are a beginner skier and don't know or have big expectations.
Most staff are just indifferent not grateful or friendly. Their equipment is definitely rundown, their ski boots smelled and had to request a change. The skies kept coming off as the size lock kept sliding. The guy didn't bother asking for experience level and gave my husband, who had never skied before, long skied and I got a pair of short ones, almost for kids. Only two trails were open including the upper section of the beginner's hill. The cafeteria was cold and not clean. All the tables were dirty and the food was expensive. The bathrooms didn't have toilet paper and towards the end, it smelled horrible. We didn't get charge for parking today, being the first weekend of the season, but $10 for that disorganized and unmaintained parking lot is outrageous.
Had an okay experience for the price but would never pay $75 for lift ticket and $45 rental. Almost same price as other high end ski resorts with not even 1/3 of their quality.
Would go back only for the closeness to the city and groupon value.
I'm a low intermediate and is a good place to teach my husband the basics of the sport.

ITS NOT TREMBLANT
Feb 2018 • Solo
I have skiied here many times on a weekday and always got in my runs; good value for seniors ticket cost; also good tune up before heading off to Tremblant; and amazing view of Toronto skyline on a clear day and/or spectacular at night.

Worst place to go
Dec 2018 • Friends
Not even close to worth the groupon’s low price, they use a beautiful mountainous view in the ad to coax you in. I’m not even sure how they’re allowed to advertise that and get away with it. The runs are short and boring. Dagmar and Lakeridge are way better and they aren’t good to start.

Great family skiing experience!!
Feb 2018 • Family
While this resort doesn't have the run length of ski areas in Barrie or Collingwood, the runs are at least as long as those at neighbouring Dagmar or Lakeridge - but at Skyloft they know how to groom hills to perfection! My sons both took lessons there with a school group and I can't say enough about the rental staff and instructors. Everyone struck me as being professional. courteous and HAPPY! The lodge is also a gorgeous post and beam building with soaring views right down to Lake Ontario, Toronto and beyond. I highly recommend this place!

Worse Ski Resort
Feb 2018 • Family
Terrible!!! We went with a groupon and ended having the worse skiing experience! There are a lot of beginners who rent equipment . The resort does not have ski racks. At the end of the day, somebody stole our skis& poles! We will never go back to this resort!

Good skiing with Groupon
Mar 2018 • Family
I've been here several times with my kids skiing / boarding. With a Groupon you can't beat it. Hills are well maintained and staff try and keep people moving at the only chairlift. There are enough runs to keep you interested and not clog up with skiers.

Waste of money through Groupon
Feb 2018 • Family
We bought passes on Groupon. Was not impressed they charge $10 for parking. I have purchased vouchers on Groupon for other ski resorts and have never had to pay for skiing. This is a very small resort with only one ski lift. They have a capacity limit and will turn you away once they reach it. They do not offer refunds and should not be allowed to offer tickets on Groupon if they cannot honor it. Will NEVER recommend or ever go back to Skyloft. Stay away and go to Lakeridge or even Dagmar for a better experience

Poor quality experience
Feb 2018 • Family
I am glad that I took my son on a groupon deal, because I would not have been happy had I paid full price. I used to ski there 12+ years ago, and it was a lovely place to ski for an afternoon with beautiful views. My understanding is that it was bought in 2006 or so, and it's just been left to deteriorate.

The whole experience was not great. I had to rent this time and while that experience was quick, the ski fitting was terrible. The ski rentals are all in a trailer and they weren't fitted properly, just to fit my boot. No adjustments. My one binding was broken making it hard to get the ski off. There were no poles which was fine because I had my son with me and it's easier to ski with a child without them. The helmets are just in barrels sitting outside. I brought my own boots and helmets, thank goodness. I have never experienced such a rental experience, though to be fair, I usually have my own equipment and don't have to deal with rentals. Anyway, there are no racks to rest the skis on, just bales of hay.

Inside the chalet, it was so run down and had a terrible experience with the cafeteria. Everything is just run down including the bathrooms. They are not very welcoming. Signage everywhere warning you of the consequences if you break their rules. Don't go through this door or you will be removed. Don't sit on the fireplace ledge or you will be removed. The whole atmosphere was crappy and uninviting. Even driving up to the hill, there are signs warning of it being private property. It just isn't welcoming at all.

Then we went to get something to eat for lunch. I am gluten intolerant and I know I should have brought some food, but didn't. Usually there is at least something I can eat. I saw on the menu that they had salad. I thought perfect, I will have that, after asking if the beef patties were GF, not sure. Went through this with a number of items on the menu. The server clearly getting annoyed with me. Then I asked for the salad and she sighed, looked over to another worker and asked if he wanted to make a salad, and his reply was "no, not really". I was so exasperated at that point, I grabbed a bag of chips and ate them for lunch. The tone of "don't break the rules or else" continued in the cafeteria. You had to ask for a lid, ask for a straw. I felt like we were a tremendous burden on them placing our order.

The only two people we encountered that were even remotely friendly was the lady working in the rental department, and the guy operating the lift.

Only a handful of runs were open as well, which gets a bit boring after a while.

So I guess, it was ok given that it was deeply discounted, but I won't be going back which is disappointing because it used to be a great little place to ski.

The conditions weren't the greatest, but to be fair it was nearly 10 degrees the day before and then it got cold over night. The icy conditions made for some bumpy skiing first thing in the morning until everyone started to ski and it got softer.

Save your money, and go somewhere else!
