- markjohnd911 contributionsRecommending this museum if you are into nice artifacts. The place is also picture perfect. I hope that this kind of places be handled and maintained for the next generation to see.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NtrekkerMetuchen, NJ1,026 contributionsWe attended the 8 am Sunday mass and my advice- better to go on a weekday. However there are kids who guide you to a parking spot with the request that you buy from their family store the usual kasoy (cashew) and suman (sticky rice wrapped in palm leaves) delicacies in Antipolo. We bought a lot!
The church has outdoor seating for the pilgrims since there is an indoor capacity requirement. The sound system was really good and I observed the attendees to be very devout and pious. It was solemn.
At the rear of the church one can go up a flight of stairs to pray up close to the virgen dela paz. Very organized.
Always a pilgrimage must whenever I am in the area.Written 13 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Then back down a different route through the jungle. Lunch was a Filipino selection of chicken and rice, veggies and other delicacies - all delicious! Then we had our choice of spots to rest and relax before the next adventure - a walk through the village to the river for a waterside/river crossing hike. A full day of peace and quiet in the mountain jungle.Written 2 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Livid G7 contributionsIt's the new Antipolo cathedral. Popularized by the "One More Chance 2" movie, its airy ambience surrounded by the lush forest make it the perfect wedding venue.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Melania_Cruz_LimjocoAbu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates249 contributionsThis shrine is also known as the Antipolo Cathedral. I like the way it was designed because it is airy and spacious with touches of modern architecture. Since it has been customary for devotees to have their vehicles blessed by a priest in the hopes that our Lady Of Good Voyage will keep them safe from road accidents we took the opportunity and had our car blessed. The entire proceeding was well organized and hassle-free so our trip to the Cathedral was a fulfilling, dual purpose visit.Written 9 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jun RuayaCalamba, Philippines52 contributionsI have visited a few caves in the country and it's always similar-- stalagmites, stalactites, crystals, dripping water from the ceiling, pool of water, rock formations, others. But if you believe on the agony of Jesus Christ and with much of imagination the rock formations and structures on the walls and on the floor become mystical---of course with the aid of a guide.
The guide uses the beam to show you the half side of the lying image of the body of Christ .The beam also shows a half image of a skull Another shows the the Virgin Mary carrying the baby Jesus. There are other formations he calls the Apostles. There is also a wishing well, a dried pool and "bell" that when hit hard by your hand produces a ding-dong sound of an ancient bell---if you would imagine it as sound from a bell.
During my recent visit there was a group of touch healers who came to draw some "powers" from the mystical cave. They regularly use the cave to pray, according to Lito, my guide. My advice is take the Marcos highway access if you have your own car. Upon reaching the boundary of barrio San Luis turn right to a rough road and in less than five kilometers you are at the foot of a pathway going to the cave entrance. Do not use the Antipolo City access because of the steep downhill and uphill road that traverses through a private subdivision. If you commute, motorcab fare from the highway is 40 pesos per head. From the cathedral it's P150 per trip. There are trips going back to the highway.Written 22 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - A D32 contributionsWe have visited Boso boso church and gave me goosebumps the moment we entered the church grounds. I have concluded that it is because of the ambiance of the church itself, despite of the fact that it was renovated multiple times for the past nth years, still gives that "divine" feeling.Written 7 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maureen LCastle Hedingham, UK150 contributionsBeautiful setting but getting a bit tired. Mr & Mrs needs cleaning and painting.
Setting was stunning, nicely laid out. Stunning flowers.
Ceremony went well . MC very pleasant young man. Forgot to bring forward young pageboy with cushion for wedding rings and forgot 2nd young pageboy who should have presented Bride and Groom with Bible..They were totally lost not knowing what to do. He was however very organised with Wedding Party, telling them where to sit and what to do.
Catering was by an outside company. Food and Tables were excellent.
Venue's toilets need a spruce up.Written 19 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Happy, welcoming staffs at the Restaurant, very helpful at all times! I can't help but admire the whole Mall design as well, cozy lounge and very clean restrooms too. They even have Santa Clause benches and Christmas decorations up to this time, which adds to their patrons’ enthusiasm. I just might frequent the place and make my rounds of the shops and restaurants in this newly-built, quite-modern Mall. Excited much!Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- leahMandaluyong, Philippines763 contributionsThis St. Therese Shrine houses not only a 1st class relic of the saint, but also of her parents, Louis Martin and Marie Zelie Guerin Martin, who hold the distinction of being the first married couple with children to be canonized.
A fairly large church in front of an SM Mall which makes it very easy to visit using public transport.
With lots of windows decorated in tinted glass depicting rose motifs and the visage of St. Therese, the church has a light and airy feel. The second floor has a side seating overlooking the main church area. Sculptures of St. Therese and her parents, and other saints are also on display. The gilded altar has the crucifix as focal point, with St. Therese in slightly smaller size. The ceiling is decorated with a giant tiled golden pattern.
The entrance has St. Therese painted on the floor, with rose petals as decor. There is a separate tower just off the main entrance, with a statue of Jesus on top; the ground floor has a circular design where you can pray and light candles.
The adoration chapel is inside the church office building, and can be visited anytime for some real quiet praying and meditation. A few steps away is a small store selling candles and other religious items.
On Sundays, services are full - mostly of families going to mass together. The church grounds provide plenty of parking space - pick the morning masses as the late afternoon ones are pretty packed and contributes to the heavy traffic that piles up along Marcos Highway.Written 16 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
