- betterthanworkNottingham, UK1,201 contributionsReally impressive sight as you approach the town, all of the windmills visible either side of the castle on the hilltop. You can drive to the very top to park to save the long walk up the steep hill.Written 5 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - siouxsyTustin, CA1,093 contributionsGreat little stop. We just parked and walked around the castle and then took the trails on both sides of the castle to see the windmills. The fog setting on the windmills were kind of magical.Written 10 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - johnhouston2Knaresborough, UK4,702 contributionsThese iconic windmills, together with the adjoining castle, are a fabulous sight and are now inextricably linked to the fictitious character Don Quixote and his fabled travels throughout La Mancha. Twelve of the original thirteen windmills have been preserved on the hillside, five of which are in full working order, and one of them doubles a a small shop for necessary cold drinks etc!
We climbed up a some steep stairs from the town centre, but you can also drive up the hill.Written 29 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Some restaurants with typical Spanish tapas and dishes.Written 21 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alandida44Rome, Italy67 contributionsWe found ourselves in the middle of the “visita teatralizada” in Spanish that a large group had booked, because we could not get passed in the steep entrant to the castle.
I must say we never hang along guided tours but this was different. Knights, kings, queens, monks, sword fights, candle lights and smoke! The actors were very good! The caste came to life and the children were brought away in a different time! If you can, do book it. It’s fantastic!Written 27 July 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
