We arrived a bit early. We walked around and took some pictures.

We were asked to park our cars on the other side of their house.

The lady of the house gave us a drink. We asked something with no alcohol.

Then she showed us all the fruits that can be seen in Guadeloupe. She gave slices for all the fruits. These were mostly delicious.

Then we went to the history of this plantation. It was a place for sugar canes.

They were building a tower, as it was in the past.

We were invited to go on the house. It was splendid and lots of artifacts from the past.

It was worthwhile to learn the history of this place.

    Worthwhile to see!

Easy walk with flip flops. Drive till the most southwest point of the island.
The beach is sandy but a rough sea. Makes it impressive. Cross on the hill after the 10-15min walk where you can see over the coastline.
    Must see.

I really enjoyed the in restricted access all over the operation. In an age where security Is increasingly prevalent, it was refreshing to be able to wander, unsupervised, through the distillery at our own pace looking at areas of interest.
The gift shop is really well done and the tasting station pours a very generous sample.
The coffee shop under the shade was a perfect place to relax with a well made brew afterwards.

I was curious about the La Maison du Crabe. There were a lot of people there and they seem to be happy.

It was hot, but they found a way to keep the temperature lower.

Worthwhile for those who like crabes.

It is a very nice and interesting museum about archeology and the amerindians of Guadeloupe. It has quite a bit of information and a few nice models and dioramas.
Even with archeology being a fairly recent subject in Guadeloupe the museum remains quite small and the collection a bit light.
The positive point is that it is free

At one side, people and children were swimming in the ocean.

    The palm trees were attractive.

There were a lot of places to sit.

There is even a huge shelter.

Lots of people told me that this is the best beach above all the others.

It is a beautiful beach and I like the palm trees on the bach.

    Worthwhile to see!

The distillery is a nice location with a good shop to buy some rum. I think it’s a family concern. You can also see the barrels there.

The beach is very nice, the flowers, trees as well, but there is no archaeological par as we expected. We did not really understand the concept.

We had found at the museum that there were slaves that were buried at the beach of Saint-Marguerite.

We didn't find any bones and I was happy about that.

What was special was the information that they put on the beach with information panels.

Some of the bones were crushed by the sea. They found also Africans buried in the beach.

What I didn't know is that 90% were slaves in Guadeloupe.

I felt sad for these people. At least, we know now that happened to the poor slaves.

    Worthwhile to see!

What a wonderful experience. My daughters aged 13 and 10 did a summer camp and had a fabulous time and learned to climb for the first time. They were taught to test their limits and strength in a fun and safe environment. To top it off, it was bilingual which made my girls. whose mother tongue is English, feel more at ease.

Super cool team of real champs (best in France for many of them), very reassuring. The site is actually beautiful, lost out back. Take off happens with the Desirade on the horizon. Because it is a bit away from humans, it is common to be able to spot turtoises, large fish and else during the flights. And if you want a bit of acrobatic fun, you just need to ask.
