- margaret1102Punta Gorda, FL51 contributionsAt beautiful Penca beach there is a lovely guy called Ricardo. He makes various delicious drinks with fresh coconut, fresh pineapple, with or without rum, as you prefer. We got a pina colada in a whole fresh pineapple. blended on site with rum, Easily sufficient for two people, perhaps to share with a third, under the shade of the big tree while looking a the beautiful view. He speaks good English but it was fun for me to chat a bit in Spanish to practice. He is there seven days a week from morning to sunset, which of course is a perfect time to visit and try and see a green flash as the sun disappears over the horizon.Written 22 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We received exceptional service. The carts were at the Airbnb when we arrived and were picked up once we left. The gas powered carts were in very good condition and easy to use. We were able to drive to the beach and local areas. We highly recommend working with Chip and Jennifer for carts and to schedule side excursions such as a sunset catamaran ride, hikes, ATV adventures or a special dinner. We will definitely work with them for future visits!Written 19 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jennifer C2 contributionsJustin did an amazing job getting all of my excursions set up in Potrero Guanacaste. There were 6 people that went on this trip. We went on a catamaran/snorkeling, atv riding, and ziplining. It was very good communication, and he told us exactly where to be and what time. He even reminded me about the next excursion. When we go back to Costa Rica, we will definitely be using Wet and Wild again. Thank you so much Justin!!Written 23 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stephanie H1 contributionCosta Rica Sailing Center is a must stop if you are visiting the Guanacaste Province or plan to live anywhere near the town of Potrero. The youth sailing program has changed my teenage sons life! He was hooked on sailing from the first lesson and cannot imagine sailing anywhere else. He now prefers to be sailing rather than on his electronic devices!!
In addition to youth and adult sailing lessons, there are multiple affordable options for private sailing, catamaran and fishing tours. If you are an experienced sailor you can rent dinghy boats or small catamarans by the hour. You can also rent a Kayak or SUP if you just want to enjoy being on the water without sailing.
The friendly locals and vibrant atmosphere is infectious at the Costa Rica Sailing Center. Not only can you enjoy time on the water but the BEST sunsets happen on this beach! One visit here and you will be back!!Written 3 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Calli FTexas4 contributionsThis was an awesome trip! The crew was amazing, very attentive. Great drinks, a snack going out, and a delicious lunch at our stop. One of the guys would find fish to show us while snorkeling and actually caught a few for us to see up close. Highly recommend and would definitely go back.Written 17 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Barbara1077San Francisco, CA14 contributionsMy family booked the 1/2 day river rafting trip and we loved every minute!
The bus picked us up promptly from our villa. It was clean and air conditioned, and all aspects of the drive and the experience were handled well-very professional in all regards. The Tenorio river was beautiful. The guides were experienced and extremely capable, as well as fun to be with. Their pleasant personalities added to the fun. We are a family of 19, and ll ages from 78 to 7 were cared for and well attended. Everyone had a great time!! We felt that all safety precautions were taken, and we felt confidence in all our rafting guides. The pictures taken of the experience were very high quality, and so much fun to look at after the trip. I definitely recommend purchasing them; reliving the trip through the pictures is definitely great. The trip was also planned well. Snacks were provided before the bus ride to the lunch area-so no one went hungry or thirsty. The lunch was well planned, and tasty enough--and then we boarded the bus back to our home. The bus ride was long, though. It was necessary because we were at sea level in Tamarindo, and the river is in the mountains. And of course, there was holiday traffic on the way home. This was explained to us so we understood, but it would have been better if we had known how long the ride was before we signed up for the trip. It was booked as a half day rafting trip with lunch, but in reality, it was a full day's adventure. This shouldn't deter anyone from doing the rafting trip, though. The experience of the rafting is well worth the drive. These memories will last a lifetime. Costa Rica and this rafting experience are perfect examples of the pura vida lifestyle of the country--the people organizing it and running it were happy, courteous, and helpful. They even looked as if they were enjoying the experience, too. One other thing--having water booties was a good thing to wear -just for walking over the few rocks to get to the rafts. I bought mine there-but they didn't have all sizes. Most people on our trip did not have them-so it is not a requirement, but I found it helpful. ( I am 77.) It might be better to buy them at the souvenir shops in town if you choose to wear them.Written 3 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DiamondMikAtlanta, GA9 contributionsAbsolutely, an awesome day! Highly recommend this tour through Captain Tom (whom we've used every time we've been to CR). We're a family of two, 59 year olds and 29, 28, and 26 year olds. We were picked up by Carlos early a.m., an excellent guide and driver, stopping for a pastry and coffee on the way. Upon arriving in Vandara, we mounted gentle horses to ride to the zip lines (excellent runs and assistants). We also, watched an ox grind sugar cane to make brown sugar, sampled the local coffee and pastry by an "old" baking technique, and slid on a thrilling, water slide. We thoroughly enjoyed lunch made from everything on site. Also, we had a volcanic mud bath then walked into the most beautiful, natural, spring lagoon to swim and experience the waterfall. A few of us also opted for a 15 minute back massage while the others swam in a naturally heated, hot spring pool enjoying a cold beverage. After Vandara, we took a short drive to the Volcan Miravalles which was fascinating watching the steam pour out of the earth. I'm an animal lover so on this tour, I saw peacocks and at Vandara toucans and green parrots. It was a very full day and definitely worth every penny. Go see Captain Tom, he'll hook you up on the zip line tour!Written 29 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
