- wireless_in_CAUnited States4,718 contributionsThis was an easy walk or subway trip from my hotel. Nearest subway station was Xianting Temple (as it is also known as).
To enter I had to have my temperature checked and hands sanitized.
This was a temple devoted to the business patron god Guan Yu. It was a fairly big temple with bright red doors in the front, an auspicious color that represents success, health, etc. once inside the main courtyard was covered so worshippers could pray without impacts of the weather. Most people were facing the temple itself and all the statues but some also faced the back towards a number of seated persons dressed in blue (priests in prayer?).
Since I arrived quite early there were only a about a dozen people praying. It was a good time to wander around so I could see how ornate the statues and paintings were.Written 19 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This house is one of the oldest traditional houses in the Taipei area. It has been beautifully restored and gives a good idea of an ideal farming family house from days gone by. The house has an auspicious layout and good fengshui. It's cool in summer and warm in winter. The house, which is some 200 years old, is built in Fujian style, with red bricks and terra cotta tiles. It's well worth a visit.Written 10 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Spent about an hour here. The landmark minis were my favorites.Written 24 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There's a hiker biker trail, you can ride a bike, or even ride a skateboard. It's a welcome area of open space in this heavily built-up area.Written 14 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WLCZhongshan District, Taipei64 contributionsGood local food but for a night market, it is more expensive compare to other places. This is a only food market, vendors are changed every half day, therefore it is well known as a so-called 24H food market.Written 21 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
