My wife and I had an outstanding walking tour of Ueno Park and Asakusa by our guide, Ikuko, in late October. Ikuko met us promptly at our hotel in Shinzuku and skillfully navigated us through the Tokyo subway system to Ueno Park. She did a great job in telling us about the history, temples, shrines, museums, and stores near the park and in Asakusa. Her English was excellent and she asked questions about what we might like to see. Among other things, she walked us through the Senso-ji Temple and the Kaminari-Mon Gate which were quite fascinating. After a great tour she took us to restaurant which served tasty soba noodles and then treated us to some delicious Japanese pastry. Ikuko then escorted us on the subway system back to our hotel and even recommended a restaurant for dinner. We found Ikuko to be very nice, funny, and quite professional. We highly recommend her as a Tokyo tour guide.
