We loved floating in the crystal clear aqua blue waters. My husband never goes in waters that he cannot see the bottom and loved it, all the up to his shoulders. It was a favorite time of our trip as we went nearly every day. Remembered our drinks. All staff couldn’t do enough for us. From the front desk to servers and housekeeping. It was a beautiful relaxing atmosphere. My only recommendation would be to have a live calypso band or island entertainment in the evening. Loved going in and out of the little bays exploring. However, it was really neat to snorkel around this sunken vessel. - Gareth G1 contributionI have owned timeshares in Aruba for well over 30 years. One of them, La Cabana, has a casino as part of the establishment, named The Glitz. Many of the staff there know me by name and if not, as the eccentric retired Professor.
I’m rewarded with essentially limited free beer at the casino and to compliment my evening’s entertainment, I play a little Blackjack at the card tables. These games involve chips rather than actual cash; standard procedure.
It turns out that the $1 and $25 chips are somewhat similar in appearance (especially after a few beers) and so, a couple of evenings ago, I exchanged what I thought were five $1 chips for a 5. I made the error of giving the dealer, Maria Bravo four singles and a $25 chip. It would have been a simple matter for her to accept the chip but she is honest and pointed out my mistake.
This note is sent as praise for Maria.
Should the reader ever visit the beautiful island of Aruba and entertain yourself playing Blackjack, the Glitz is a reliable and honest house to visit.

We ordered a meat & seafood paella for 4 and the size was more than enough. It was very well cooked. The tapas were a so-so. The cod fritters were great. The octopus was soft but not impressive. I would definitely go back for the paella. Though I think the paella could have been greatly elevated if they had put chorizo & more variety of seafood. The prices were quite reasonable too. If you like playing slot machines, especially video poker, there were several out of service the second evening that I heard were not operating until the next day. We actually liked this better - you can walk in from a beach vs. the rough steps, the waves were a little more calm and not as many people.
