Really great day out. Is it a long day?....yes. Is it worth it...definitely!
We were the first pick up at 7.10am with around another 6 stops.
It took about 2hr20 to get to Chichen Itza with Cesar providing insight and commentary on the way as we got closer. He is a great guide...funny, knowledgeable and making sure everyone was taken care of and informed on what would happen when we arrive etc.
We booked the all inclusive version of the tour which means our entrance fee to Chichen Itza was covered as well as the lockers and life jackets at the Cenote.
I'd recommend this as it saved us a load of time at the Cenote, we could go straight through to get changed and avoid the queues to get tickets for lockets and jackets (jackets are mandatory).
We also has a drink included at the Cenote buffet lunch...beer, soft or water.
Chichen Itza...goes without saying its amazing...great commentary from Cesar. Perfect tour length, really interesting insight on the Mayan culture and enough time to do our own thing before heading back to the bus for the Cenote. NOTE....you have to wear a mask at CI when you go through ticketing etc...they are $1 or bring your own. Also need to wear at the Cenote for the buffet lunch.
The Cenote was amazing. Refreshing and a wonderful sight.
Then on to Valladoid for a half hr stop which is all that's allowed to the tour companies. We joined in the tequila tasting, quick wander around and then back on the bus to return to Cancun....overall about a 12/13hr day but no great hardship. The bus was comfortable, reclining seats and water on arrival at Chichen Itza and then also returning to the bus.
It was a great day...thanks to Alexis for making sure we got everywhere on time and safely! To Aleman for his help guiding and to Cesar for an amazing commentary all through the day our kids commented how funny he was and "best guide ever" 💗
