Visited Lamorna Cove on a grey wet day in July 2024, the weather probably didn’t do it any favours, but I found it so disappointing. Aside from a lovely cafe/restaurant on the harbour, serving many variations of Cornish crab dishes, there is not a lot there. It pains me to say this as I’ve been visiting Cornwall for 40 years, and I love it.

Do not, under any circumstances, park at Lamorna Cove before commencing this walk; it is a den of thieves and you will regret it as soon as you return home and find a ransom demand on your doormat. However, there is parking just up the road at a pub called The Wink. Better still, if you would like to turn the walk into a circular route you can park at Paul, head over the fields to the Wink, meander down the stream to the cove, follow the South west Coast Path to Mousehole (where the views and the catering far surpass anything at Lamorna Cove), then back up the hill to Paul. You'll need a map, as the rights of way are not all perfectly sign-posted, but it's worth the journey.

Worth a visit. Think Du Maurier creek, secret path, exotic plants, unique history. Lovely owners and chatty knowledgeable gardener.
