Lamorna Cove is incredibly pretty in the right light but there’s not much to do; you can swim a bit but it looked uninviting, and its one café is overpriced and understaffed. The drive down is incredibly beautiful, but single track, so if you can’t reverse don’t put yourself through the stress.

The Cove is privately owned and have just been issued with a £100 fine (£60 if paid within 14 days) for overstaying my car park ticket by half an hour, so do make sure the same thing doesn’t happen to you.

Do not, under any circumstances, park at Lamorna Cove before commencing this walk; it is a den of thieves and you will regret it as soon as you return home and find a ransom demand on your doormat. However, there is parking just up the road at a pub called The Wink. Better still, if you would like to turn the walk into a circular route you can park at Paul, head over the fields to the Wink, meander down the stream to the cove, follow the South west Coast Path to Mousehole (where the views and the catering far surpass anything at Lamorna Cove), then back up the hill to Paul. You'll need a map, as the rights of way are not all perfectly sign-posted, but it's worth the journey.

Worth a visit. Think Du Maurier creek, secret path, exotic plants, unique history. Lovely owners and chatty knowledgeable gardener.
