Forests everywhere, water running, a splendid waterfall ( acquacheta), ancient monasteries ( don't miss the one on mount Verna ). You could walk for days from shelter to shelter or choose daily walk. There's plenty of trails for everyone. Wild life is abundant but rather shy. - Craig LPerth, Australia350 contributionsSitting high on a hill we could set it from our villa across the valley so we decided to visit the ruins. It is well landscaped and being restored but not a lot remains of the original. It is interesting and the rooms that are restored are well done. It appears Dante may have lived here in his exile. The castle was bully in the 10th century but it appears the Etruscans and Romans were here as well. - Ines P4 contributionsVery friendly staff, amazing food! We were in the area and decided to go to Pratovecchio to have lunch and it was a very good decision. Everything was good: had chards and it was very tasty, the starters were great, the wine, even the bread!
