This is an amazing view and well worth the walk up, It would be challenging for anyone that struggles walking up hill, you can take a few hours to walk around and enjoy the views. There is a great place to get a drink and some lunch and the food was so good and reasonable priced.

This is a must do while in St Johns, it is an amazing museum with several permanent and temporary exhibits. They also have a great restaurant on site, you need at least 3-4 hours.

Their slogan is to 'go under the rock,' which you sort of do in this massive geology museum. It explains the geography of Signal Hill and all of St. John's, and has immersive displays of space and science.
Adults without a bent towards these subjects may find it a bit too much reading, or out of their sphere of understanding. But science buffs and kids will love it.

What a great city. Loved the people. So kind and friendly. Top three experiences:
    1) Quidi Vidi - historical little neighborhood. Great food, art and walked around the lake.
    2) Signal hill. Great views.
    3) great eats and bars with music (especially The Ship for music and atmosphere )

A beautiful little town where you can enjoy casual food and live music at Quidi Vidi Tavern or go high end at Mallords Cottage. My teens loved it! Great views and a wonderful atmosphere!

This place was definitely always live! So much going on with a lot of fun people. We always enjoyed walking through here and drinking. It reminds me of Hess Village back in Hamilton, ON except way better!

One of the best attractions in town. You will find many streets that are lined with wooden row houses that are painted in different bright colors. We once rented a tourist apartment in one of them. Be prepared to climb steep hills. Great opportunity for colorful photos.

Enjoyed late lunch and some cold beers on a hot sunny afternoon. Great couple of hours. Had a table on second floor deck overlooking water - beautiful.

We shared several flights in order to sample wide assortment of beers - quite a range of style and flavours. Still came back to our favourite being the Iceberg though.
Food was fairly typical pub menu but good.

A very busy spot - although mid afternoon it was still a good wait for a table and service appeared to be understaffed as long delays. Our server did her best and was constantly running - just had too many tables to juggle.

It is a good walk from downtown but not really that far. We took a cab out but seemed a challenge to get one to head back and we simply walked - going to guess maybe half hour walk back to edge of downtown.

Beautiful. Plenty of people so I never worried about being alone. Started at the top and walked down.
    Highly recommended.

They give tours in summer months, but you have to inquire on off months to possibly get one. There were only 4 of us and I first inquired back in February 2024 about having a tour in September. I ended up in contact with the executive director of the foundation which now owns the church. He arranged a time for us to show up and that it would cost $20 a person to get an hour tour.

When we showed up, it turned out they were having generator problems and we would have to tour the Cathedral in the dark. But it was only for a few minutes and then the lights came back on. The executive director was the one who gave us the tour which turned out to be almost hours long. He showed us all over the interior and we were all very impressed with his abundant knowledge of the history of such a beautiful building. He even played one of the two organs for us. We ended up donation $25 a person for the tour. It was well worth it.

By the way, my friend's husband hadn't been eager to take the tour, but by the time we finished, he was very happy we had come.
