    Historical site
    Historical stop at the top of the hill. Quite foggy when there, but still had some views. Expect it to be windy. Plenty of walking trails along the hills or down to The Narrows.

    One of my favorite spots to visit when on the east coast
    Beautiful walking trails, and lots of signs explaining where you are. Places to sit along the route. Great for those with walking disabilities. Washrooms on site.

    Impressive - very well done!
    This museum is massive and has such variety! From local history, information about the role of NFLD in world wars, indigenous culture, giant squids, artwork, this seems to have it all. There is also an amazing view of St. John's and the harbour in the cafe and also outdoors by the cafe. You can easily spend the full day here - we lasted a full half day before we hit information overload.

    Visiting Newfoundlands East Coast Trail is Amazing
    Visiting Newfoundland is an experience like no other. It is breath taking view after view. The trails are amazing, but not well maintained and definitely require proper shoes, water bottle, etc. Please know that there aren't fences in the spots we visited. Please be careful. Totally worth it!

    Wonderful views and so much to see and do!
    The tower wasn't open when we were there (other than the gift shop), but make sure you take the time to explore around Signal Hill. The Queen Battery Barracks and Vista Park behind the Visitor Centre in this area are well worth the walk from here.

    Awsome trail
    Not an easy trail to go down or up, but worth the views along The Narrows. Be careful going along the rockface at the bottom, so of the spots are narrow (but there are chain railings in spots). Look for ships and birds. Even in the fog, this is a good trail. Some parts are quite steep.

    Very well done tribute!
    What a beautiful and moving tribute to such a great person! The place where he started his journey with a goal to cross all of Canada, you can't help but be moved. Very well done job of honouring one of our heroes. A little tucked away, but well worth finding.

    Beautful stained glass and ceiling; friendly parishioner "guide"; also see the Veiled Virgin sculpture next door
    The ceiling and the stained glass windows are not to be missed. Also, we had an informal tour and historical background from one of the parishioners who was there in the afternoon that we visited. Frankly, we may not have gone there, except that it was raining, and I feel lucky that we were able to see it. Also, the sculpture of the Veiled Virgin is in the convent next door, and that is definitely not to be missed; it is one of the premier artworks in North America.

    Visit if you get the chance
    We really enjoyed this fascinating museum. The exhibits are well displayed and explanations are clear. We did only manage about half of the museum due to time constraints, but we were there for nearly row hours. The short film is well worth watching..

    Lovely fishing village with artisans market to explore.
    Following the challenge of finding parking (the only negative), this is a lovely little village to explore. We enjoyed visiting the Plantation (full of various artisans) walking around the harbour and watching people fish. You need to plan the timing of your visit in offseasons since the brewery was unfortunately not open nor was a small house (inn of olde) we had also hoped to visit and enjoy lunch.

    Brewery with Great Views
    This is a craft brewery in an amazing location. We walked there from our hotel along the hiking paths. The town feels like a fishing village. The brewery serves good beer. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. Great spot for refreshments after a hike.

    A Classic Pub Street
    Even a visit during the day is a worthwhile experience for a bite to eat, a drink and taking in the art and design of this small part of the city. Get there early in the day and you may see the 'clean up" from the party the night before.

    Very colourful!
    As others have mentioned, there are colourful houses in various locations around St. John's. We were staying on Queen's Road and found the area between there and Duckworth quite colourful (especially on Victoria), and there also amazing churches and other architecturally fine structures in the area.

    Lovely spot for a picnic!
    As recommended by a local, we went here one day and enjoyed a lovely morning walking the trails and checking out the various statues and monuments throughout the park. Lovely spot with the water flowing and small waterfalls to discover. Clearly loved by the locals.

    Gorgeous stained glass, beautiful building
    I was married in this Cathedral over 30 years ago and my son wanted to have a look inside on our last visit to St. John's. The stained glass windows are beautiful and all tell a story, the organ is very impressive, and there is a little museum showing the history of the building. In the summer there have been afternoon tea service offered in the Crypt Room which my mother and I have really enjoyed. This is a lovely building and I highly recommend a visit.
