What travellers are saying
- Doug McBrideFredericton, Canada2 contributionsSuffice to say that while visiting this June with our family from Saskatchewan, we were impressed enough with Sydney and the area to to put it on our short list of possible places we will look at retiring in a few years.Written 15 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DotsGirl2Vancouver, Canada330 contributionsThis is a great place to take pictures. We were just in Sydney for a few hours and enjoyed our time down on the wharf. There are also an assortment of small shops here as I believe this is where cruise ships dockWritten 15 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CBYankeeFlorida, USA147 contributionsThis beautiful gallery space offers the best local crafts in Sydney. Items are available in every price range and in every art discipline. I visit here many times a year as the craft offerings can be different.Written 17 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tracy M4 contributionsMy first visit to this place was just this summer and I'm sad that I didn't discover it sooner!
It was an easy peaceful walk and I will definitely be back again.Written 28 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - BCGLIrvine, CA71 contributionsMy family and I took a nature walk at the Bailoe Ard Nature trail today. The scenery was pleasant with running water, wildlife, and greenery. My only complaint is that the wildlife was overgrown in some sections of the trail. We had to push away branches in some areas. Perhaps this is due to the down season, however something to note depending on the age of your children and any special considerations for them. We enjoyed our walk, and will be back!Written 14 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Lisa SCasselberry, FL119 contributionsMy husband found this and we were most happy we went. Young guide was very pleasant and informative. House gave a good idea of what life was like. Be sure to also see the gardens out back!Written 6 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- chynnaCape Breton Island, Canada2 contributionsStopping in at this lovely brewery is one of my favourite things about going back home to Cape Breton. Always the warmest welcome from staff, and the beer is chilled perfectly! I recommend getting a flight, and while enjoying, checking out the amazing art that surrounds you! Breton Brew never disappoints!Written 17 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CC77Toronto, Canada4 contributionsNo Where Does It Tell Us Who Sculpted This Sculpture and I Find That Very Very Very Strange and Inappropriate!.
Even at the sculpture there is nothing to indicate the sculpture or their name!!!!!
Not Good.Written 10 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - William TCulpeper, VA564 contributionsIt is always great to visit and learn about a home built in the 1700's. The staff (apparently volunteers) did a great job of sharing the history of the home and the family of the Cossit family. We learned in the kitchen of a drink the earlier settlers used to get vitamin C. They boiled pine and spruce needles to which they added things such as syrup and rum - we were provided a taste. The gentleman in the kitchen (in period clothing) was great!
You have several steps going in plus steps to the second floor, plus the atic. For 2$ well worth the visit. We visited on a rainy day when several cruise ships were in port. We arrived just a a tour group was leaving so the place was packed but soon cleared out to a reasonable number.Written 12 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Gonen2014Haifa, Israel3,921 contributionsThis is a nice and quiet park near Sydney's waterfront, with a pretty big lake and fountain, and some ducks swimming in the water. Various festivals and events are held in the park during spring and summer. Beautiful Victorian houses around the park as well. Nice place.Written 25 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mathew Saju KallachiyilSydney, Canada3 contributionsCoxheath is a very beautiful place to go for a trek. Everyone can go there because it is a short trek and people can climb it easly. There are ropes, made my trek easier. The view from the top was really awesome and i was feeling so pleasent. People also came for skiing and other adventures. My suggestion is to go in the morning or in the evening. The sunset was really beautiful from the top. And evening lights are good for photographers to take scenic pictures. Family and friends can enjoy the trip to the fullest.Written 30 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Pastor S79 contributionsThe church is nice, but hardly remarkable. However, ladies who serve as docents can share the background history and that is worth listening to. They'll tell you about this history of the pipe organ and the pews which are reserved for royalty. Without question, they are proud of their church and community and they want to winsomely share that story with you. I hope you get a chance to hear them.Written 24 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- BenLar137Calgary, Canada14,059 contributionsIt was a treat to spend a little while in this beautiful building, once a church, now a museum. The staff member we spoke to on our visit was charming, friendly, and knowledgable. It's not a huge or complex place, so a half hour inside would be plenty of time. We were there at the end of the day, and they had set up for a wedding, and I can't think of more picturesque spot to tie the knot and have a little reception. Sydney seems to have a number of these mini-museums, which makes for a nice diversity of offerings.Written 27 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Alex MKitchener, Canada155 contributionsA lovely historic gun battery, with some good static displays. At the time of this writing it looks unattended do to Covid and the washrooms and such are closed. The views are stellar and you can get some amazing photos of the harbour and ocean. Great for sunsets.Written 18 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jean HOttawa, Canada582 contributionsWent for a short time for something to do, not a great selection of slot machines, however, found one that actually coughed up some dough! Made the visit worthwhile.Written 16 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
