Some interesting and varied exhibitions including a selling exhibition by black artists on the first floor, ice photography on the third, ethnic dresses on the third and a single sculpted work by Yinka Shonibare RA of Mr. and Mrs. Andrews without their heads on the fourth. But the art sales department next to the old Daly Street entrance has been suppressed during Covid-19 and not restored, The sparkling new ground floor cafe and bar presented as nothing more than a security desk.

Some reviews mention high end stores, but my family did nit find there to be too many high end stores here. At least not on the first and second levels. They have all if your regular "mall stores" plus some. It was nice to walk around on a rainy day and get in from the weather.

This past Saturday was my first ever visit to the Carp Farmers’ Market and it was very enjoyable although the grounds were muddy from an early morning rainstorm. Sure, I have been to the Carp Fair grounds once for the garlic festival and another time for an outdoorsman & fishing show; but there is nothing like shopping for fresh pastries, vegetables and grabbing something to eat while you are enjoying a day’s outing with your wife!

Since she had been there more often and she informs me that a number of vendors had not shown up likely due to the weather. However we were kept busy sampling kimchee, preserved meat and homemade delicacies. There were still scores of concessions both indoor (a sort of barn) and outdoors; displaying their local farm products, home-made pastries, handicrafts and locally raised flowers to keep us occupied. Let’s say that there is something here for everyone!

Like many customers, my wife came for one particularly item that she could only find grown locally here and ended up going home with one or more shopping bags of goodies! A wonder Saturday well spent!

You have to go to the Byword market as a tourist. Many different shops and restaurants, the OTTAWA sign is also there. A very delicious bakery in the market square.

I’m used to London galleries not recognising Sundays and Mondays. Ottawa galleries tend to have a weekly retirement from Sunday to Tuesday inclusive. But when I walked past Cube last week I saw a notice on the door indicating it was now permanently shut save for occasional hirings. This it was a pleasant surprise this Saturday lunchtime to find it open, or rather a gentleman sitting in a chair outside ready to open it to anyone showing an interest. What was on display seemed to be an exhibition put on by the gallery because many of the most striking pieces were not for sale because part of the gallery collection. There was an impressive selection of works in different media, including oil and acrylic paintings, prints and sculptures.

Took an introductory lampwoking class here and loved it - now I go whenever I can and take whatever lampworking courses I can! Tried out the glassblowing classes too (ornament, pumpkin) and had great fun with both of them. Always a great time, fantastically nice staff, warm atmosphere - Literally! The furnace always heats up the place!

Great outlet, much better than Mirabel outlet. The deals are good. Expect 50% off and less.

Spent the day there yesterday with the family. The food court is VERY DISAPPOINTING. We went to the schwarma villa madina is VERY expensive (30$ for 1 person). The food was good for a food court, but very expensive.

I would suggest families who can to bring their own lunches or go to Subway.

A great corridor for a walk through the city. There is a lot to see in terms of stores and places to sit and people watch.

It is an amazing place to visit, always new old things to find and always great maps. The owner is very knowledgeable and even if you don't find anything that you would like or need you will still get a great history lesson

We first went to Bayshore which was far too large for us oldies to walk around so were happy to find Carlingwood Shopping Centre (Mall). The best thing was the quantity of seating which we had need of several times. There isn't too much in the way of variety, mostly clothes shops it seemed, though I may be wrong! Unfortunately, my experience was spoilt by the clothes shop 'Fantasie' where I bought a duvet coat which was marked $99 but got charged $100 (though cheap for Canadian prices most stores had sales starting around $99). When I looked at it again back at the hotel, I found a 3 corner tear on a sleeve. It was obviously there from the time of manufacture as the corner had been ironed over. I took it back next day but the assistant (not the one who sold it to me) was so rude, wouldn't even look at the damage saying 'no returns, no refunds' pointing out that that was shown on the receipt. I wasn't made aware of this policy when making the purchase, I didn't see any notice in the shop to this effect and how may people actually read the receipt at the time of purchase?

Situated in the former railroad bank in a large west of downtown parking lot Orange Art Gallery is a landmark in what is otherwise something of a cultural desert. Approaching it from Bayview O-Train station it took me more than a couple of wrong turnings before with the help of a compass assisted map I found the right path. Up a flight of steps into the first floor and one is struck by sheer walls of colourful artwork in a number of rooms both small and large not to mention the sheer number of artworks on some walls reminiscent of an RA Summer exhibition in London. I was particularly impressed by the wacky people-scapes of John F Marok. The staff were not very welcoming. A couple sat on an outside terrace waiting to be served from the inside bar. A water jug was left empty whilst a young lady carried bottles of water to a storeroom downstairs. There a younger couple wanted to look at artwork with a view to purchasing as wedding gifts but an elderly male staff member was too hard of hearing to register their request to inspect some works from one of the racks. On my return walk to the train station it poured with rain.

There is a very large selection of First Nations and Inuit artwork. Some unique silver jewelry and aboriginal motif giftware. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Be sure to stop and at least browse.

This mall has a good variety of stores, and covers all the bases...clothing, jewellery, food, specialty items. It is clean and modern, and is fun to shop at. Parking was also easy.

Barbie museum is worth the trip. Nothing fancy..just many old showcases with every Barbie you could imagine.
Great record guy in the back. New and old, decent prices, wide array of musical genres and all lps seem to be in good condition.
There is also a used video game section. Tons of games for old consoles and accessories.

Lots to look at..very cool antiques..well worth a trip.
