What an amazing place to be on a sunny day, one of the most beautiful lighthouse in NS, and the road to get there is spectacular

Took the CAT from Yarmouth, NS to Bar Harbor, ME in Oct 2022. It was very easy to get on and off the ship. I was expecting more activities on the ship like more shopping than one shop and thought a nice restaurant would be on the ship instead cafeteria type styles-expensive to buy anything on ship. All kinds of different options for seating and very comfortable and clean! Lots of room as it was not close to being full...that is what it felt like. It was much more pricey to go on than I initially thought it would be when I had the idea. After crunching the numbers, we decided on it as a treat and it was very comfortable. I enjoyed it. On other ships I had been outside most times but it wasn't all that inviting on this ship to be on deck. I sat at the front and did see a group of dolphins jump for about 1 minute. The lady who assisted with the wheelchair elevators is very crusty.

Eclectic collection with many interesting things for all ages. Admission fee only $3. Great place to go on a rainy day. There is a small gift shop, clean bathroom, and free parking on premises. Didn't have time to see Pelton-Fuller house, which you need to sign up for a timed tour at admissions or transportation section to see electric car, so be sure to do that if you have time.

A small but beautiful museum to learn about the history of Sweeney Fisheries.
We were here for research, but this is a museum for everyone interested in the fish industry and fishing boats etc.

A historic park by the waterfront - so quaint, clean and well maintained. Aside from the obvious fountain, if you stroll through the park, gazebo, down the stairs to the mosaic floor, and onto the lower side of the park - everything is so beautiful - read the plaques and learn some history about the area. Loved the granite memorial to those lost at sea. We spent about 30 minutes here and it was well worth the time.

This place is amazing. Incredible collection of fire trucks and ephemera from the past. You can spend an hour or two here easy if you take it all in. Also a nice cosy reading nook upstairs for the kids with a few books. One oft he trucks you can do on and "play" with. Enjoyable spot for all ages!

Right in Main St. in Yarmouth. They were all out of a few of their good beers but had a decent amount of choice. Inside and outside seating. Games available to play. Staff are friendly.

A step back in time and learn the history of the house, the inhabitants and the Fullerbrush Man. The tour guide was knowledgeable, the subject matter interesting. Luckily we were the only ones on the tour so we got to move through at our own pace. Well worth the small admission price, arrange your tour from next door at the Yarmouth County Museum. And tour it while you're here, its a great museum in an old Church.

Of all the years I have been visiting Yarmouth, we have never visited the Art Gallery before. It is a small art gallery, but has a good selection of paintings. We were mainly interested in the selection of Maud Lewis paintings which was nice to view. I know there are a several excellent artists in the Yarmouth area, but unfortunately, this gallery lacks local artists other than the Maud Lewis paintings. Oddly, we viewed a better selection of local artists at a gallery (free admission) on the waterfront where they were sold.

Eel lake Oyster Farm is the real deal, not a tourist trap, meet the people who farm the oysters, and enjoy seeing their operation and buy some to take home or enjoy in their lake front eating area. Highly recommend.

It is only a 2.5 km hike from Yarmouth or you can drive to the lower part of Bunker Island and hike close to the lighthouse.

JOhn’s Cove Beach and just opposite, another beach. Both are not large, but at low tide there is lots of beach. Make sure to check the tide table, best time to go is when the tide is coming in on the hot sand.

A great small beach perfect for a walk. It's long been a favorite for local artists and is home to the Helen and Lucy cottage.
