- William FScranton, PA214 contributionsIf you have never cruised the 1000 Islands, this one hour trip around the Admiralty and Navy group of islands is worth your time, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. While it really did not detract from the experience, the taped narration was difficult to hear over the crowd onboard.Written 23 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Homero M1 contributionThe day was just perfect! And the company (close friends, from many decades back), just superb! So, all we needed was kayaks; and a great evening. All of which was supplied.... :)Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- J BOttawa, Canada43 contributionsA great place for Canada Day and a long weekend. Don’t miss the e
Scenic drive along the St.Lawrence. Mallory Landing is a nice park on the water with picnic tales, washrooms, activities for children and a playground. A helicopter tour above the islands is a special way to celebrate a special event, or just splurge on a truly memorable experience.Written 3 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Most of my prior long-term boating experience is on a sailboat, and these are both spacious and well-appointed in comparison - more than enough space for two adults on the red model. Our trip was early in the season, so the furnace was very useful on the colder evenings, and being able to take a hot shower was sheer luxury. No mechanical issues with the boat or the equipment on board, and everything was clean and well-maintained.
Going early in the season meant we had no problem finding moorings, and some nights were the only people staying at any given island. Camelot Island was especially beautiful, and a walk around the trail there is very worthwhile. Gordon Island is cool if you're interested in ecological succession or the history of Parks Canada. And Beau Rivage is also lovely, though mooring up was tricky given the tight space and the thunderstorm that we were trying to get out of. You will probably enjoy your trip more if you have some prior experience driving larger boats, as the houseboats can be a bit unwieldy, especially in the wind.Written 2 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At arrival I was welcomed by very friendly the staff. They put me at ease by answering all my questions. I said to myself, Ed, my tandem partner has 5,000 jumps and does for 30 years now and he probably wants to see his family for dinner today.
After briefing we got into the small plane. It took about 10 minutes for the plane to climb to 10,000 feet. With me and my tandem partner was a young Lady who did her first solo-jump and Donald a seasoned jumper. When the door opened I felt at ease and we jumped out. In mid Donald came (flew) over to me and gave me a High Five. After about one minute the parachute and Ed guided me to circle around a bit and then we landed exactly were we wanted. In closing: I will jump again.Written 11 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Drawing Room is definitely the place to go if you need an outfit for a fancy occasion (or for just bumming around). Calvin is very friendly and helpful. Gave us the wonderful suggestion to go to Laverne's Eatery. We were appreciative for the details he shared about the heritage of the building.Written 7 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
