The Canadian Museum of History is located just across the river from Ottawa in Gatineau on the Quebec side of the Ontario-Quebec border.
The museum itself is very good to excellent. The way things are presented, the use of technology, the flow of the museum, etc. Really no complaints in that regard.
However, there seems to be a tremendous amount of wasted space. There are so many public areas of the museum that could have additional exhibits, curation, galleries -- whatever. The complex is huge but much of it feels empty.
The only complaint I have is the history. They've gone all-in on woke. There are countless exhibits and galleries devoted to everything and anything Indian/Native/Aboriginal/First Nations/Indigenous. Meanwhile, important chapters like the American Revolution or War of 1812 are covered with literally on one placard in a single wall panel. How do you not have a full gallery on the American Revolution and United Empire Loyalists? Or, how do you not have a full gallery on the War of 1812, which arguably forced Canada to begin the process of self-governance from Britain? And there was absolutely NOTHING on Canada's monarchy.
