- SeaweedMermaidCornwall, UK533 contributionsWe had an absolutely fab visit to the Barbara Hepworth museum. The garden in particular is stunning and it was great to see where she worked and loved and learn about her life. We attended a talk which was really informative and we found the staff generally enthusiastic, friendly and incredibly helpful. We came from the Tate and borrowed a wheelchair to use at both sites and to get from one to the other. The staff really couldn't be more helpful if you have a disability. It's a little difficult to get around the site if you're a wheelchair user as there are stairs so you would need a companion or assistance. I recommend calling them before you go to talk about your requirements. It is well worth the visit.Written 18 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PandamedicLichfield, UK5,936 contributionsWe visit out of season, so the beach is quiet, and not packed.
It's still my favorite beach down here, especially when the sun is out. Lovely golden sand, lovely clear sea, dog friendly, and the beach cafe makes amazing burgers!Written 26 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin B13 contributionsJust had the true pleasure of seeing this fantastic youth theatre perform Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour dreamcoat at the amazing Minack Theatre, Porthcurno. We were blessed with lovely sunny weather on Saturday, which made the whole experience truly memorable. For visitors to Cornwall, you MUST..MUST..MUST ..visit The Minack Theatre. And you MUST try to get to see Kidsrus... perform ANYTHING! ANYWHERE ! This group , of FORTY FIVE (!) young actors yet again were outstanding. The production was superb. The singing was a joy. The "orchestra" was wonderful.... and then the kids on stage. AMAZI😲😲NG. There was a lovely twist to the show which should remain a secret.. as only Theatre goers deserve to know and remember. 😂 😂. Congratulations to everyone at KidsrUs, connected with this production. You ALL deserve gold Medals. You continue the outstanding record of producing wonderful shows for the public. Please.. NEVER STOP. And, thankyou for all the effort, practice training, long nights in preparing for the Minack. When are you being invited to the West End?Written 6 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DavidjellisLowestoft, UK9,498 contributionsI visited St Ives for a few hours as part of a cruise ship excursion from Falmouth and had a wonderful time. Although very busy it didn't distract from the natural beauty of the area, with a variety of beaches to enjoy, from surfing beaches to sandy havens it was really pretty, especially in the warm sunshine.
The town / village centre is quaint with narrow streets full of curiosity shops, art stores, many places selling traditional Cornish pasties, a couple of pubs, etc...so many pretty places to see. Our cruise excursion bus parked up near the rugby ground and we got a local minibus to take us down to Porthmeor beach, from where we could explore the various attractions and sights.
Our guide said that the tourists are best advised to park at Erith and get the scenic train trip into St Ives, and described it as one of the prettiest train journeys in Britain, so that sounds a good plan, although when we drove past Erith train station it was packed...but parking in St Ives itself is unlikely to be an option in the peak summer season.

At time of review £5pp admission but well worth every penny. We could easily have spent longer. - PandamedicLichfield, UK5,936 contributionsLovely beach in a cove. One of the smaller beaches compared to the main ones in St Ives, but nevertheless a good one. Dog friendly when we visited. Toilets and cafe nearby. This beach does get very busy in holiday season though.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
