This is certainly the way to do a Beatles tour; worth every penny!!! Besides going to the most famous places associated with the Fab Four, you also get taken to some real gems that you may never have heard of but tell some extradonairy stories. Our guide was Dave who was incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions we had. He really catered the tour to our needs, first by picking us up from our hotel and dropping us back once finished, taking numerous photographs for us at every stop, taking us to sights in place of Paul's and John's childhood homes as we had been there the day before with the National Trust and allowing us to stop for a couple of comfort breaks. We saw everything from the childhood homes of Ringo and George, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields (has a great gift shop- be sure to buy a souvenir or two), the church hall where Paul and John first met, the graveyard where Eleanor Rigby is burried, the school where Paul and George attended and the art college that John went to just to name a few. Dave had many interesting stories that he shared with us during each stop and his booklet of photographs really ignited our imagination of how the events in these stories would have unfolded. My particular favourites were those involving Ringo and Yoko, who don't always get much of the attention. It was very easy to get in and out of Dave's taxi (which was called Martha- a nice nod to one of their songs). Could not have wished for a better experience, the only bad thing is that it had to come to an end.
