- NiallEdinburgh, UK6 contributionsSuperb intimate venue with great hosts , fabulous cocktails and wonderful artists. Definitely one to put on you it schedule if visiting London/Soho and you don't need to be a jazz enthusiast to really enjoy it. The vibe is electric.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Rob TLondon, UK125 contributionsLovely little club, great music & decent food.
I visited recently with my cousin to watch the Quentin Collins & Andrew McCormack quartet, they performed a fantastic set full of Chick Corea-written material - which was fantastic. Was pleasantly surprised when Steve Rubie himself joined them on the flute as well... what an unexpected treat!
Being vegetarian, I had the only veggie-friendly main course on the menu (the beetroot pancake) & wow! It blow my mind. I left having spent slightly more than I had hoped to, but with a smile on my face & a belly full of good food & drink!
I look forward to returning soon.Written 9 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Harry AndrewsAldershot, UK55 contributionsNells is one of those very few places left that allow you to step back in time and enjoy the ambience of great music and great personality.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JCHodgesLondon, UK55 contributionsMy first visit and it won’t be the last, to this end of month event organised by Rose, who’s very friendly and welcoming. There are various DJ’s playing an eclectic mix of Soul, House, R&B & reggae to an eclectic mix of people. Good vibe, friendly people and great music, well worth a place saver in your diary.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

The young waitress (Becky) was very efficient & attentive. She went through the menu and brought our drinks straight away, plus the food as soon as it was ready.
When the Covid restrictions are lifted eventually, this will be a great venue.Written 30 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Janet J2 contributionsWe went to The Jazzbourne for a private party, amazing space, bar stocked well and great friendly welcome and atmosphere. - Aaron BSouthampton, England, United Kingdom9 contributionsWhat a hidden Gem!
At a loose end while visiting the area, I searched to see if there was any music on locally, and found this place. So glad I did!
Hidden away in a side street, down some stairs in a basement, this place is more or less what you would describe if you were to picture a jazz bar in your mind. Small, intimate, and with a bohemian vibe.
Ignore any negative reviews. The owner was charming. The place was slightly tatty, yes, but thats a large part of the charm. If you want pristime and matching furniture, there are plenty of weatherspoons or soulless coffee chains to frequent.
The music was terrific, and the vibe inside (with the few people who were there) was great. The musicians played with passion, and the audience showed their appreciation.
I got the impression the staff and musicians are some sort of family, collectively trying to keep the place going, and passionate about doing so. The barman even came up to play Saxophone!
Please go support this place. You don't find many places like this anymore, where the music really matters.Written 24 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - dmn19Southampton, UK8 contributionsLovely cosy venue with friendly team of staff overlooking park. Saw a great performance called "7 1/2 years" which featured a theatrical and emotional journey with some entertaining music. Loved the table service inside the small theatreWritten 1 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Maksim BAntwerp, Belgium3,176 contributionsWe came here without specific expectations and actually had quite some fun!
The basement is hot, small, cozy and dark. Just what you need for proper jazz in all its variations (or that is at least what we had that night). Drinks were fine, audience knew why it was there and the fun was there!Written 9 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Debbieanne OLondon, UK15 contributionsWe went to this venue for a gig downstairs. Before the gig we sat upstairs and enjoyed a beer. I really liked the ambiance of the place, cosy lighting and tables. Quite romantic in a cool way! The staff at the bar were really attentive and friendly.Written 11 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
