After 2 decades in London, we were motivated to visit this museum after watching The Essex Serpent. The location is very convenient (London Bridge) and the museum (with the amazing exhibition currently on in the herb garret) is SO much more than we anticipated! It was all so wonderfully thought-provoking, captivating, and atmospheric that I am adding it to my top list of fun things to do for visiting tourists. Hats off to the staff as well, who went above and beyond to be helpful - offering to take pictures of us in the operating theatre, recommending great poses etc. Their assistance was part of what made the visit so thoroughly enjoyable. The only downside is the insanely head-pounding loud headache-maker of a club sited immediately up against it. Why ever a council would give permission to site such a loud club next to the museum is beyond me. It definitely detracts from the ambience and it is so loud that the gentleman running the gift shop shut the door to spare me the noise while shopping. Such a great space deserves better.
