I don't usually get inspired enough to write reviews ,but for anyone visiting Attingham Park the 'Hidden Home' tour is not to be missed. I visited in October this year curious as to what the extra £5 fee would get me. I was definitely not disappointed. Our tour guide was Sonya who was a simply wonderful story teller. She guided us through the fascinating two floor apartment bringing the former residents to life in such amazing detail that had her audience totally captivated. I have visited Attingham many times over the years and didn't realise this little 'behind the scenes' gem even existed. The tour is closed for this year ,but will start again in the spring, please give your full support. Thank you Sonya for a really enjoyable experience.

A brilliant day out for myself and my dog, extremely good value and most enjoyable, a map was provided from the friendly staff, we took our own food, loved the views, the walk, the caves, couldn't fault any of it, looking forward to going back again soon.

If you live in or around Shrewsbury or just visiting it’s worth calling in here.
The entrance fee of £5:50 per adult is minimal with today’s prices of attractions and worth the money. Not the largest but certainly very friendly and informative. Would recommend to anyone in the area. You access it by driving to the Battlefield Farm Shop and parking there, walking through their courtyard and follow the signs to the entrance.

The church is just stunning, so peaceful, so beautiful and so welcoming. If you go to the Quarry it's worth popping in. I love it here.

I went to see Sleeping Beauty, the first performance. I've always been a bit bah humbug about pantomimes, but I couldn't resist. The theatre was full of primary school children - the BEST audience. The costumes are stunning, the lighting great. The performers were my friends by the end of the show! The writer has done a brilliant job of involving everyone, and the 'slapstick' bits have been updated brilliantly. The music buttons were an absolute triumph. I loved every single minute, as did the children. I'm 69, and the bah humbug has gone at last !!!!

The Stiperstones Nature Reserve is a short drive uphill away from The Bog visitor centre.
There are 3 walks suggested on the board in the car park and we chose the largely level walk which leaves through a gate at the far end of the car park. On a breezy day this was quite well sheltered and yet provided good views. For the more energetic the uphill walks from the centre of the car par would provide more challenging terrain but with the advantage of spectacular views (we were told).
Car parking is a puzzle – there is a sign indicating that there is a charge but no times during which a charge applies. Payment is by using an App or by phoning a number, but with no mobile signal it’s impossible to pay….. Some else did manage to access the App only to discover that parking charges do not apply after 5pm. This needs to be clarified.

Brilliant afternoon spent on the Owl Experience. 90 minutes of learning about owls and handling them. Our granddaughter was delighted and hasn’t stopped talking about it. We booked through Wowcher for her and my husband and I managed to get a spectator ticket for £10. Really good value. Lisa and Steve are so passionate about the birds and their care, highly recommended.

Not only does this church have one of England’s highest steeples, but this wonderfully Gothic building is Shrewsbury’s only complete medieval church. It dates back to Saxon times, and has had enhancing additions & alterations since the 12th century - including the world-famous stained-glass panels , imported from Belgium & Germany. The 15th century , richly carved oak ceiling , is also simply incredible to see. Although it no longer serves as a church, it’s cared for by The Churches Conservation Trust, and entrance is free with donations gratefully accepted. It also seems to host events, as there was a captivating calligraphy/art exhibition on at time of visiting.
