- Michaela F9 contributionsI recently visited One Spa on a Saturday morning with a friend as part of a weekend away to Edinburgh. We had the escape at one experience, so no treatment/massage just use of the thermal suite. At £75 for 3 hours each I felt very happy with my experience. The premesis was clean, as were the robes and towels. There were plenty of lockers, though they could have mentioned whilst we were downstairs in reception about the personal keys/wallet lockers - I read about them but didn't know where they actually were until reading TripAdvisor just now!
The thermal suite itself is good, the rooms were clean, heated/steamed as you'd expect with some nice environments. The outdoor/indoor spa pool area is nice, though don't expect any views of Edinburgh! It was also nice to have a full on swimming pool to do a few lengths in as we fancied.
I have rated 4 rather than 5 for two reasons. One, the changing rooms were uncomfortably hot, after all the heat of the thermal suite and showering after you don't really want to feel sweaty again whilst trying to get ready to leave. More importantly, both myself and my friend experienced the same problem with two different showers, which was that the provided shampoo/conditioner/shower gel pumps were just not functioning. They were of a design that I've never seen before and as we visited in the morning I'd like to think they weren't already empty for the day, but perhaps they were blocked? A slightly disappointing end but otherwise a lovely visit.Written 30 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Caroline4 contributionsI only found out in October about the Lush spa. I attended today for The Good Hour and it was absolutely fantastic! From the minute I walked in the shop I was greeted by lovely staff who made me feel really welcome and if possible, even more excited for my treatment.
The Good Hour is such a fantastic experience, I loved how well thought out it was and the spa area is so beautiful too. Chris, the spa therapist was absolutely fantastic. I felt so comfortable and looked after. By the time I walked out, I felt like I was made of rubber. Cannot stress enough just how fabulous my experience was. Looking forward to going again to experience a different treatment.Written 25 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AGoldsmith3Ulverston, UK10 contributionsExcellent massage, fitted us in on short-notice, gave up their lunch break to accommodate us. What service! Didn’t realise I was so stressed and tense, felt like I had a great workout and left feeling two inches taller. Lots of useful advice given to both myself and my wife. Well trained therapists, both from Chang Mai Thai massage school which we have been lucky enough to visit on holiday. Hadn’t realised how much we’d missed great massage. Will definitely go back and would highly recommend. Full COVID measures in place, wore a mask throughout.Written 1 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MJ & IrmaEdinburgh, UK53 contributionsI have had a few massages, and this was the best one ever for me. It was the Ling massage, which started with a treatment where Ling seemed to identify which muscle groups held particular tension. The weather was hot, which had left me fairly sweaty, and she took care to cool things off with the towel as a fan to make sure the massage would flow properly.
Although I hadn't felt any special problem areas before this massage, I could really feel a difference afterwards, as Ling had loosened up parts of my back and calves that had been very tense. She is very strong and takes the massage seriously; if you are looking for a thorough muscle treatment, I thoroughly recommend her. She also offered some tips for making the most of the treatment post-massage, to allow the muscles time before exerting them again.
It must have taken at least around an hour, and felt very ample.
It's a good idea to book in advance online.Written 4 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our therapists Christie and Leigh were some of the best we have ever seen. They were professional, friendly, attentive and very respectful. Their manner of massage and the environment of the spa was so soothing and exceptionally effective. We immediately felt the stress, fatigue and aches of the long day of travel simply melt away.
We highly recommend that spa and the team at the Waldorf Astoria to anyone visiting the area!

I felt very comfortable to relax, let go, trust and communicate my needs along the way.
I had so much tension in my shoulder and wrist pain, and afterwards I felt like a new woman physically and mentally.
The temperature of the room was perfect and the aromatherapy and music were not too much but enough to create a calming atmosphere.
I would 100% recommend to anyone, don’t hesitate, treat yourself!Written 3 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rachel TDundee, UK18 contributionsWhat an amazing experience. The float session itself is just wonderful - relaxing, meditative and just sheer bliss. The venue itself is really inviting, with a nice waiting area; dressing room area; and lovely faith in nature products. The staff are super friendly and accommodating - Sophie in particular. Would highly recommend.Written 20 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
