We stumbled on this lovely park and were thrilled to find peace from the hordes of tourists. Just a lovely green space on the backside of the castle, it is expansive and a great place to soak up the sun.

Not a usual whisky fan but this experience was magic. Learnt all about the origins of Johnnie Walker and how it's a blend of so many class brands.

I thought this would be your typical, boring portrait museum where all the pictures looked the same. Fortunately, this wasn’t the case, as the portraits portray unique individuals important to Scotland’s culture. Uniquely presented with a placard explaining each individual, we were surprised and impressed by the quality and quantity of the art presented. A little off the tourist path, it’s worth seeking out. Well done.

This stately home is off the usual path for visitors, but is simply lovely if you have any interest in vintage interiors. The house is well restored and the room guides are informative and interesting.

The New Town of Edinburgh is part of the attraction of the city. It has many nice buildings and several attractions. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Old Town.

It's been a while since the last time we've been in Edinburgh. This time there were a LOT more visitors. There was a festival going on and the streets were packed.

Luckily Princes Street is pretty wide, so there was still space to enjoy a walk up and down the street.

The shops are what you usually find in major cities. Primark and M&S being to most interesting to us. M&S always has good quality loungewear for low prices. H&M, Kiko, Swatch, Apple - they are all here.

But besides the shops there are some sights to spot from here. Of course the Edinburgh Castle. But also the very nice Scottish National Gallery or the impressive Scott Monument. The Princes Street Gardens park is just across the street and worth a look.

Be careful crossing the streets though, Princes is a very busy street with lots of traffic.

My friend and I had a wonderful time distilling our own custom bottle of gin! Gary was an enthusiastic and wonderful teacher and very passionate about the subject! He taught us lots about the distilling process, different types of gin and we learned lots of history. We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend to everyone! It was fantastic value as well! I already have plans to go back with a group of work friends!

The start/ending point of the hop on/off tours of the city. Handy alighting point for shopping in the New Town, lovely architecture and nice open area. Not necessarily a ‘must see’ area but lovely nevertheless.

A birthday treat for 5 11-12 year old girls who had a great time, and with helpful hints managed to complete the challenges. Excellent host.

This square has largely been maintained as it would have looked in Georgian Britain.
Amongst the elegant old buildings in the square there is one you can look round - note you can enter for free with an English National Trust card.

I have been visiting here for many years when on holiday in the area & it is still execellent value at £15 for the day. This was ny first visit since covid and now you have to book & pay online but be warned you cannot do this at present using an android phone! I was told to just turn up & they booked me in via their computers. I was disappointed that they haven't reopened the cafe as I had to venture out in the rain to find something to eat.

Impressive exterior and interior. The newish organ is a highlight and the shrine to St Andrew has a fantastic icon. Stunning Stations of the Cross as well.
The angels on the inside roof are a really clever bit of architectural innovation.
Perfect place to pause and reflect.
    Good Info Leaflet available.

A group of us recently did a walking whisky tour with Justine, she was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, funny and not phased by anything including the ‘colourful locals’. We all had a great time and found her tour really engaging, with the whisky at the end a real bonus and tailored to the tour.
I would certainly recommend this tour, even if you know about whisky you will learn something from Justine.
