What travellers are saying
- JAGAKGSydney, Australia43 contributionsWe had lunch first in the Tea Room which was just lovely. The audio tour was simply excellent and touring the Britannia was so interesting. Highly recommend visiting!!Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mel3 contributionsAn amazing achievement and view when you're at the top. The path up isn't easy so not great for people with limited mobility or older people. But well worth the reward when at the top! Beautiful!Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darron HStafford, UK21 contributionsLoved the walk, loved the atmosphere. it was a wonderful place to be.
Popped in and out of shops enjoying the bustle of the city.Written 26 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The street has many sights, like St. Giles cathedral, Camera Obscura and The Whisky Experience. I would recommend going from the castle to the palace, as it is going downwards. On the Royal Mile, there are also restaurants and bars.Written 29 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dell LAustin, TX8 contributionsThis was a favorite destination in Edinburgh. Queen Elizabeth used this Castle and I can see why. It’s a gorgeous place full of history. It’s stately and the grounds are lovely. It’s a great place for photographers. I loved it.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- dma1969Wausau, WI214 contributionsI was so focused on Arthur’s Seat that I nearly overlooked this gem but a tour guide recommended it. We were near the bottom so decided to climb up for a beautiful view of the city, Castle, and Arthur’s Seat. Doesn’t take long to climb and has lots of viewpoints.Written 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CamDPerth, Australia86 contributionsStayed the wife along (who is not a whisky fan) and she absolutely loved it.
They explain the different regions, tastes (scratch n sniff), impressive visual displays and various sample tastings.
Absolutely worth doing the Gold version for the 4 extra drams, and the regional IMAX style video of the scenery is stunning.
Engaging tour operators and it only goes for an hour. Interactive video style selecting the type of whisky and range on display 3,400+ is literally like heaven to whisky lovers
Great range of whisky in the gift shop I r he way out and worth taking 10 mins to walk through the store.
Will be hitting up our travel company to include this in future tours as it’s a ‘must see’ in Edinburgh, and right next to the Castle which was handyWritten 26 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We learned a lot about gin, my particular favourite being the Seaside Gin (no spoilers but it was so interesting). We were welcomed warmly, got some great knowledge and had some great gin. Couldn't ask for a better afternoon!Written 24 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The lighting and ceiling is amazing. There are concerts so check the schedule. We stumbled into a string concert that was free. The sound was glorious. This is a must-see in Edinburgh.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
