Traveling the world and going on wine tours is a passion of ours. I spend many hours finding the right tour for size, tour guide, places to visit, and cost. Provence and Wine tour and without exception, Romain the tour guide, was the tour to be on. We happen to have 4 on the tour (also, our 2 friends on the trip with us from the US) made an ideal size for maximum comfort and participation. Romain by far makes the experience from booking to pickup to drop off. During the vetting process, I send Romain some emails about what to expect, some specific wineries to visit, and little background of the group. He was very responsive with details and the wineries he could accommodate (he has a portfolio of relationships that he tailors the tour for you). We wanted a wine tour and not other stops that some have like chocolates, etc.
We visited 3 wineries in CdP and finished at a cave in an old village for some additional tasting (there is more to the story, but I’m not going to spoil the nice surprise). Lunch was incredible and another wonderful part for the day. I am a certified sommelier, but spending the day with Romain who is a higher WSET level 3 made the education in France wines and all the other details about it, truly an experience to remember.
We were on a wine tour a few days before in Lyon and buying and shipping good wine is not as friendly as we enjoy in the US. Romain has this part figured out too. He has a license to buy and ship wine and has established his own logistics system. This is a huge benefit for buying smaller amounts from different wineries that he collates into shipments that are much cheaper than the wineries do using MBE. We bought more wine because of this service he can provide.
Overall, the tour was everything we were hoping for. Special thanks to Romain for making it the memorable experience.
