Beautiful gardens well worth a visit. About an hours walk around the garden. Five minutes walk out of town. Tranquil with a great variety of plants the lily pond is amazing this time of year.

    highlight in Menton!

After pick up close to the station our guide Valentine gave us extensive explanation about the special lemon farm. He dealt well with group which was both English and French speaking 🇫🇷🇬🇧.For example, you learn why it is totally normal for lemons to be both yellow and green (see photo) and how they protect their bees from hornets.
The view is great from up there too and
The tour includes tasting of various lemon related food & drinks. We recommend you ask for the mint flavoured lemon liquor 🤤

After wandering uphill through narrow streets of Menton you can easily find this treasure. This scenic graveyard is a peaceful place with exceptional view. Absolutely recommended.

One of the top attractions in Menton, pearl of the French Riviera, is this 17th century baroque style church with the bell tower height of 53 metres. The church is dedicated to Saint Archangel Michael Since 1947 it has been listed as a protected monument alongside with nearby cemetery. Basilica is reachable through staircase from the Plage des Sablettes.

This summer the esplanade leading from the Casino to the railway station has been restored to it's traditional condition. The greenery looks very fresh after the rainy start of the season and gives shelter from the traffic to sit down reading on a bench.

Although the new museum is closed there are a number of works in the small gallery in the sea wall. You should visit even if you don’t know much about the work of the 20th Century artist

Menton is such an idyllic small town that I have not encountered petty criminality during my several summer holidays. In the evening you can stroll along the promenade and choose from many seaview restaurants on both sides of the Casino. Continuing walking along the sea you will arrive to Carnoles beach in Roquebrune.

The beautifull yellow Art Nouveau building houses all the best and most expensive food sold in town. Even only looking at the fresh fruits, vegetables, cured meat products, cheeses and bread qualities makes one hungry.

Great place to buy wonderful jams, just made on the premises. Very interesting and inspiring for young visitors too.
I always buy (since ages) “clémentines confites” (candied clementines): a must to please my hosts when served with sour cream. One of my favorite recipes. Try it!!!!

This beach is really popular as it’s not too rocky. Also, when you swim, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Menton’s colourful houses. Near the beach, there is a promenade with cafes and restaurants. There are also small fountains and a playground for kids. The beach itself is located between two ports. There are some free toilets and showers. I advise to come here closer to the sunset time, it’s less crowded and you can enjoy street musicians playing in the background.

The leisure boat port is quite large with many restaurants and a supermarket. There are also shops providing sailing equipment and elegant, safe plastic tableware. You can see the Italian border with cars queuing and even make the crossing on foot.

Amazing citrus farm so colorful and beautiful area of France. I went in the one o’clock tour and learned about the climate of Mentin and the variety of citrus able to grow in Menton. After the tour I was given time to walk around and be inspired by the terrain, colors, sun, and variety of plants.
    Sampling of the products delicious.
