What travellers are saying
- AL P5 contributionsAmazing views. Perfect in the morning to admire the views. I recommend after that visit to take the route (with breathtaking scenery) on way to the village of Tejeda. Reminded me of a smaller version of The Grand Canyon. Tejeda is beautiful to walk around too.Written 18 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- charlotte056Sandown, UK436 contributionsLike the rest of the island the scenery is amazing, it’s part of a great mountain drive with different views round every hair pin bend. Stunning sea viewsWritten 25 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PeteWLawLudlow, UK1,783 contributionsThe coach tour I was on stopped at Aguimes on the way back from the Guayadeque Gorge. Unfortunately the Church of San Sebastian isn't open in the afternoons, but the historic town centre (16th century?) was very attractive and was full of statues, These ranged from a donkey, a camel, a pair of lovers, some cross dressers, a naked cellist and Canarian dogs.. The buildings were one or two stories with plastered walls which left many exposed stones. There was an attractive garden opposite the church with more statues.Written 28 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michelle LewisBirmingham, UK3 contributionsWe came across Mirador El Guriete while driving along GC-65 and it doesn't look much from the road. I have to be honest, we only stopped in because we had been driving a while and four all of us were desperate for the toilet!
I originally thought the mirador itself was just the view from the car park, and it's very beautiful from there. But when my sister and I went for a wee together behind the sign, I noticed a pathway that wasn't immediately obvious so when we had finished watering the plants, we went for a wander and weren't disappointed!
It was a bit of a drizzly day but the views were still stunning. The path was a bit slippery in the wet, but I was only wearing flip-flops - would be fine when dry. Totally recommend stopping here if you're passing by. GC-65 is a beautiful drive and this hidden gem is a lovely little treat that made a toilet stop a lot more interesting!
P.S. It's probably worth noting that there is no actual toilet block here, we all did our wees in the bushes. At least 3 other people did the same while we were there. I have no idea where the nearest proper facilities are.Written 12 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The first KM was through the village and after 10 minutes we we climbing through the valley. It’s a hard climb. So do it early in the morning, where there is no sun.
All the tracks are simply to follow. You can notice the white paint markers or the little towers made of rocks. A trained mountaineer can easily track where you need to go.
After the first two hours you end up at the top of the valley and the path will continue with a slight raise in altitude.
When you arrive at a little cabin you can rest and take the tour around the Montana de Tauro. There are serious climbs in the tour but also the paths are simply to follow.
After the tour around the mountain we folllowed the same way back. You need to be careful, all of the lose rocks are a reason where you can make a mistake.
I would call this a route for a medium trained mountaineer.
Total time for the walk was 6 hours and 30 minutes.Written 29 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It works perfect for family with small children ( as we was when we came to Les Cumbres first) for couples and for family with teenagers as we are now. It has became some kind of tradition in our family. It is very nice that Les Cumbres manages to hold evenly high level in quality and service in so many years. The same stuff makes it cosy to come back, it is nice to recognise same facies there and we have our favorits on the meny that do not disappear.
Thank you for doing such a good job!Written 5 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It really is worth walking the whole ridge and not just one of the peaks as the walk is excellent and the views stunning.
As a bonus you won't see many other people, although the paths are good (worn out in some places) so it must get some traffic.
If I could only do one walk on the island (based on what I know today) this would be it.Written 15 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I would highly recommend pulling in and taking in the view, it is like a mini-Gran Canyon.Written 3 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
