The owner of a nearby restaurant recommended I visit Madrid & Darracott and very fortunately I was able to book a tasting for the last night of their annual Sherry Week. What a delightful experience. I learned a lot about wine in the company of locals, expats, and tourists alike. 100% would do again.

Nice place to relax enjoying a glass of wine and jamón Serrano, Rafael is an expert cutting jamón and Juan Carlos expert in wines, perfect combination.
Great selection of wines, cheese and of course jamón.
Good location Salamanca neighborhood , calle Velasquez.
    Absolutely recommended!

Worst service I’ve ever experienced en madrid // peor servicio que he tenido en madrid. No quieran darnos agua. Los camareros y dueños siempre quejándose sobre mi grupo // the staff was constantly complaining to our faces when we asked for a glass of water.. they continued to complain about many things and we felt extremely uncomfortable sitting there.. we had one glass and left because the service was SO bad. I’ve been in madrid for 3 years and have never been treated so poorly. AVOID at all costs, NO VAYAS A ESTE SITIO

I have been buying wine here since they opened the store and I understand they now offer wine tasting courses. I love learning about Spanish wine and the owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. I noticed he also stocks top wines from France. Although it is a neighborhood wine store they are happy to speak English to tourists like me!

We were visiting Madrid from the United States, and we are lovers of good wine. While in the Salamanca neighborhood, we randomly came upon MARES Vinos, and had a fantastic experience there. The staff recommended some wines based on our stated preferences and the ones we bought were truly excellent! I would highly recommend visiting there.

One of the best places in Mercado de San Fernando, in Lavapies. Very good wines, vermouths and aperol spritzs. They also have a lot of spanish products to buy.

Whilst I’m sure this place had many lovely wines, we buzzed to enter, weren’t greeted at all and neither of the two ladies present looked up from their computers. We wandered around for a bit but they never stopped typing. We went and spent €200 elsewhere. Remarkable to be totally ignored at a time when places like this must need customers more than ever. Nevermind, lesson learnt.
