For our family of 4 (boy 12, girl 9), the workshop with Michael was the highlight of our time in Madrid. Our kids were a bit over ‘museum time’ and walking tours, and Michael’s workshop did not disappoint. This was a real, hands-on leather crafting experience during which we each cut, glued, hand-sewed, and riveted our projects. Michael is an excellent and patient teacher with both kids and adults, and our kids have since asked if we can make more leather projects at home because they enjoyed it so much. Our son finished his satchel before my wife and I finished out projects, and Michael taught him to braid leather and had him make a bracelet (which he hasn’t taken off since) in the time he had waiting for us. Michael even emailed us some leather braiding books for our son to learn from on his own. Michael speaks English fluently and the time flew by as he shared his favorite flamenco music and told us stories about his childhood in the South of Spain. We ended up spending almost 5 hours with Michael and would do it again in a heartbeat.
