Slovenia was spectacular- a great pre or post tour from the cruise terminal in Trieste!
They work with your schedule and were able to spend time both at Lake Bled and at the Capital! We will be back!

The tour together with Lubos was very interesting and a very good overview about Triest. He cared about all participants and their capabilities. Excellent knowledge about Triest. Very recommendable tour.

On the positive side, the small bus is modern and comfortable, well air-conditioned in the extreme summer heat, and the audio commentary is not only crystal clear but interesting as well.

On the negative side is the relatively small frequency of only 5 or 6 round trip circuits a day, which makes it unsuitable for the classic hop-on hop-off.

However, if the tourist takes it as a round trip or - as we did - one way to Miramare Castle and back to the city by boat, it is very worthwhile.

Because of capacity limitations, reservations for the initial departure time should me made in advance.

We recently cruised from Trieste and needed transportation to Venice for 9 people following the cruise. Veda Bus provided us with 2 vans and met us in Trieste once we disembarked. We were early to get off the ship. The drivers were already waiting for us.

We had gotten several quotes for the service. They were by far the most economical.

The only slight problem we did have was payment. Veda Bus requested a wire transfer. We did have some issues with this on our end. Another payment option would have been easier.

Also, be aware that they may not be able to drop you directly at your hotel in Venice, as there is limited automobile access.

Mitchell, our Slovenian tour guide, picked us up at a location convenient to our Trieste hotel. His English was impeccable, he was friendly, informative and interacted well with our small group.

While driving to Predjama Castle he shared knowledge of the country and teased us with historical information about the castle itself. Built into the mountain, the setting was idealic. Language specific transmitters were handed out to each of us. We were able to tour at our leisure as we climbed from one floor to another inside the building. Be advised that there is a lot of stair climbing but well worth the exploration. We met back at the entrance for the next drive to Postojna Cave.

The drive to the cave was scenic as we passed through the countryside. Holy moly... look at all of the people waiting to enter the cave. Oh well, we got our tickets and hit the back of the line while waiting for our assigned entry time. Suddenly the line began to move and as we approached the ticket collectors, we noticed the groups were being organized by languages. Once in our group, we boarded small trains for the 2km ride inside the cave. How awesome it was as we passed stalagmites and stalagtites illuminated in the darkness. Once the train reached the destination inside, it stopped and we disembarked and began a guided walking tour that lasted for about an hour. Words cannot describe nor photographs can show the beauty, size and scope of the incredible sight before us. It must be experienced. AWESOME is an understatement; a must see! The tour ended at a station where we boarded another train to the exit.

Mitchel was waiting for us and on the return Trieste asked if we were interested in a quick, non-scheduled stop along the way. A very short detour later took us to Lipsic, site of the breeding farm for Lippizaner horses. We did not enter any of the buildings but parked along side the fence surrounding the pasture containing the mares and young colts. The animals were beautiful and even approached us at the fence. Mitchell then explained the history behind the Lippinzaner breed. He did not have to suggest this outing but we were pleased with it and appreciated this additional experience.

Total scam! Castle itself was beautiful, but there was no Trip Advisor guide to be seen for the entry I had booked at 14:30 pm, and after paying 34 euros for our tickets to Trip Advisor, we had to beg our way in by negotiating with the ticket office! We paid 34 euros for a visit that should have cost 20 euros for two people, max! And I never received email confirmation of our Trip reservation…The Castle Miramare representative said that Trip Advisor created a recurrent problem of this kind. We should in fact be fully reimbursed or at least the 14 euros we paid for absolutely nothing but trouble….:-( Sincerely yours.

A very welcoming hostess provided us with a wonderful experience as she instructed us in pasta and tiramisu preparation. This was followed by a delightful meal in her lovely home. A truly unique experience that we would highly recommend!

A very thorough tour of the area. We were able to hike through vineyards, walk through Cividale with private wine tasting. Dejan was a great guide with lots of recent history that helped us understand the complex history of the area. Also he gave us great tips for a Trieste. Overall, the tour was a great day and helped make our entire stay in Trieste better.

I will start my review by stating that I honestly have never left a review positive or negative for any activity I have done for my many travels. However I felt compelled to leave an excellent review to support Katrin and the business she is working hard to build. I cannot say enough good things about her and this experience. She is a proud Slovenian woman running and her own winery in a small town in the hills overlooking Trieste. I could not have asked for a more authentic, educational, and fun wine tasting experience. This is not some manufactured experience from a corporation. You really feel like you are learning from a local expert and have been invited into someone’s home. On the day we went it was rainy but that didn’t hamper our experience at all. Although, if you are lucky with good weather the view from her vineyard is incredible overlooking the water. She set us up inside her wine cellar and treated us to unique wines and the most incredible board of cheeses, meats, and fruits. If you are looking to really immerse yourself into the local culture and want to try unique wines you won’t find anywhere else, then this wine tasting is for you!

We booked this tour with Explore Friuli. It was absolutely fantastic. We toured the city of Trieste, visited Miramare Castle and finished with a wonderful wine tour and tasting in the beautiful Collio area. Elbrich is a very pleasant, knowledgeable guide (excellent English) who explained the interesting history of Trieste and Miramare. The drive through the hilly Collio region was beautiful. It was a great way to spend a day. We enjoyed our time with Elbrich and would definitely recommend this tour!

My daughter and I had a wonderful and memorable experience with Elbrich. We were picked up at Gorizia train station in Friuli and then drove to beautiful scenic vineyard sites. Elbrich chose a beautiful castle for a wine tasting - the Castelo di Spessa. We toured the bunker and tasted 4 of their wines. Had a delicious plate of meats and cheeses too! Then we went to Miramare Castle on the Adriatic coast. We were dropped off in Trieste. Elbrich is extremely knowledgeable and very personable. We definitely recommend hiring her!
