- sinderella3Willesden, UK281 contributionsThis beautiful department store was an oasis of calm from the busy streets of Venice. We had a relaxed and cool breakfast in the downstairs cafe and strolled around the exquisite designer concessions, where I got seduced to buying Dior sunglasses :)Written 23 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- NYRickWeberNew York City, NY160 contributionsWe were there on a Sunday so not every vendor was there. The fruit (Kumquats) we did buy were amazing! Even though it wasn't crowded it still gave us a chance to walk around, check all the vendors there and not get all pushed and shoved.Written 4 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Global-VillagerrDenver, CO329 contributionsWe’ve been coming to the architecture Biennale for a while, and decided to try the Art version this year. I can’t say we liked much (if any) of the art; we are not contemporary art fans, as a rule. But, the organization and representation is still impressive and comprehensive.
Unlike the architect event, which mainly draws academics and architects, the art event also draws a LOT of mainstream tourists. Thus, the crowds are larger and the ability to move around more difficult. Since many of the Art events are also experiential, there is also a lot of standing around and trying make you way through crowds. So, I would recommend you go early and try to pre-plan at what points you will need to make breaks.
Throngs at food lines are also not a lot of fun, so if you plan on eating at the biennale, eat at off times, or at the small cafes nearer the periphery of the main halls. Getting tickets in advance for the event was not necessary for us, as we only had one day to go. But if you plan on spending more time there, consider on of the multi-day package tickets, which can be purchased in advance.Written 23 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mark C1 contributionWhat a find! My wife and I were on the Rialto Bridge and I was thinking how touristy it was, but we happened to step into Eredi Jovon and were immediately impressed by the beautiful craftmanship. My wife fell in love with an antique gold coral ring with rose cut diamonds. Marco was very cordial and welcoming and explained the features of the ring to us. We vacillated on the purchase since we were trying to stick to our budget and left Venice without purchasing the piece. Upon arriving home my wife kept talking about that ring and so I reached out to Marco to see if he still had it. Marco remembered us and promptly replied, and made purchasing the ring from the USA very easy, My wife had no idea I was buying the ring for her, so when it arrived safe and sound she was shocked to see it again, and I was a hero. Such a pleasure to meet him and learn about his family business. One of the first places we will go upon a return visit.Written 18 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

We really enjoyed seeing a fantastic photography exhibit in the beautiful space. Also wonderful to see Venice from the other side of the canal. Nice walk along the water from the water metro. We’ll worth a visit especially if there is a good exhibit.Written 30 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Graham STewantin, Australia4,293 contributionsYou can't miss this yellow gold palazzo sitting on the San Polo side of the Ponte Dell'Accademie ... it makes a unique statement!
It is the gallery for Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and frequently houses specially featured art presentations & cultural events.
When we were in Venice in mid August, the Palazzo featured a Dubuffet show that contrasted with most of the traditional style galleries elsewhere around Venice.Written 15 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ms. Water1 contributionI appreciate the hard working staff. The location is convenient to visit, surrounded by many small shops and restaurants.Written 9 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- GeoffBexhill-on-Sea, UK48 contributionsLe Stanze del Vetro (The Glass Rooms) is dedicated to Exhibitions of Glass. It is located behind the church on the island of Saint Giorgio Maggiore opposite the Doges Palace in the Historic Centre of Venice. From the water bus stop for line No 2 in front of the church walk to the left round the side of the church to find the Glass rooms to the right.
They generally have two exhibitions per year. One which runs from September to the following January is devoted to a glass designer, or designers from Murano. Recent examples are the Cappellin workshop, the designer Carlo Scarpa, the Venini workshop many designers. The current exhibition is on Thomas Stearns for Venini.
The other exhibition runs from April to July is devoted to other European glass designers and workshops.
The space comprises 7 or 8 rooms and ip to 300 works are often displayed with excellent background information, sketches and drawings also exhibited . Collections displayed are assembled from loans from many private and public collections throughout the world. The exhibition is a free and open every day except Wednesday.
I recommend these excellent exhibitions as an opportunity to see works that are otherwise often only seen in books .
A first rate series of catalogues have been produced and many are available and are extremely good value.
The exhibition space is run jointly by the Cini Foundation in Venice and the Pentagram Stiftung.Written 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - JasmineBournemouth, UK11 contributionsNot closed as of September 2020 - there are some amazing pieces of contemporary art, definitely worth visiting!Written 10 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- kerry hPrague, Czech Republic316 contributionsStumbled upon this place on our ‘off the beaten path’ walk. What a find! If you enjoy Art it’s well worth walking out to the VAC foundation. The art is very nicely displayed in a perfect amalgam of old verses new architecture, unusual for Venice I believe.
There’s a small cafe/ restaurant hidden behind that was fabulous.
Enjoyed it very much.Written 8 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Mark42139New York City, NY1,440 contributionsThis is a really wonderful market near the Rialto Bridge. There is so much to se here with so many vendors.Written 5 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CurtAtlanta8 contributionsI spent several days in Venice in November 2019. One specific souvenir that a family member asked for was a Venetian mask. Now you would think that would be an easy find IN VENICE! But frankly most of the masks I saw in shops around town were either low quality, poor craftsmanship or plastic junk made in China.
I was starting to get a little discouraged when I stumbled across Max’s shop. Tucked away in Campo San Marina it seems a world away from the crowded tourist areas and cheesy souvenir shops in other parts of town, but is actually only about a 5-10 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. What a great find!
Inside his shop, Max was working away steadily, but stopped to show me around his studio and discuss his art. He has many hand-painted masks, but also paintings, sculptures and other art for sale. Needless to say, I found exactly what I was looking for and would highly recommend that you seek out Max Studio when you are in Venice.Written 15 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Asiyah Noemi KPula, Croatia4,675 contributionsLocated in the heart of Venice, the gallery perfectly embodies the spirit of the group Bel-Air Fine Art and its attention to neo post-pop-art, street art, and optical art. The gallery are proud to present us with a rich selection of exclusive, internationally acclaimed, contemporary artists such as Carole A. Feuerman, Banksy, Mr Brainwash, Patrick Hughes and many others. The gallery is extremely beautiful, interesting and intriguing. It was a real pleasure to visit it, we enjoyed.Written 1 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
