#1 of 115 Museums in Gelderland Province
The nearby towns of Arnhem and Oosterbeck have a lot to offer, as well, and it would be worth making an overnight (or to) stop here,to visit the three WWII museums, and visit the terrific Netherlands Open Air Museum.
One of my Favorite Museums in Europe
1 Way to experience it

The Airborne Museum at Oosterbeek is one of the best museums I have visited.
A tribute to sacrifice made by the Allied troops during Market Garden, this museum is full of moving mementos, eye witness accounts and a display of the courage, despair and challenges faced by the troops as well...

This museum lets you experience how people lived at various times in the Netherlands - perfect complement to political history museums like the Amsterdam Museum.
The Kroller Muller Museum is nearby and is a fantastic museum with a better collection of Van Goghs (and much much more) than Amsterdam, and the WWII museums in Arnhem and Oosterbek were first rate.
Museum MORE Gorssel

This is certainly worthwhile as an alternative to the great museums in the west of the Netherlands.
The paintings of Dutch artist Hermanus Berserik (1921-2002) who worked and lived in The Hague and nearby Rijswijk are shown in a large temporary exhibition at Museum MORE Gorssel.I enjoyed the intimate artwork and...

Before the opening of both museums the masterpieces were displayed in Spanbroek Noord Holland province in the former "Scheringa Museum voor Realisme".
Museum More (Castle of Ruurlo) is beautifully restored and very tastefully designed.

The museum has a hall with all sorts of exhibits relevant to the theme and you can take tours either out on the street, or inside the buildings, in some rooms excellently created rooms.
In the Museum you can play some games, learn about eyes and braille.

First of all, there are three WWII museums in the the Arnhem area, this one,one by the John Frost Bridge, and one in nearby Oosterbek.
This was one of the best museums I have visited--made so by the staff who were brilliant throughout.

With photos, films, documents, dioramas and memorabilia, this museum recreates some of the challenges facing The Netherlands before the Second World War, during the attack by Nazi Germany, the occupation by the Ge...
Everyone who is interested in WWII and especially Operation Market Garden, "A Bridge Too Far", should most definately plan to visit this great museum.

You can easily see this in numerous history museums in Indonesia and the Netherlands.

While it's true that most museums can be visited time after time and still reserve surprises, this one especially can be enjoyed at every age with permanent exhibits and in special shows present for a limited time.
The Rhine was the northern frontier of the Roman Empire so what is now Nijmegen was a Roman border fortress and the museum allows a look back to those times with many interesting, well-displayed finds.

Opened on March 31 2017, this is a small but necessary free visitor centre, helpful for those like myself, without too much time to see all the war related museums in the area.
One of the best free museums I have visited

One of the best bicycle museums in Europe
... all over Europe, Canada, etc.), we decided to stay on an extra week so that we could continue cycling on Holland's brilliant cycle paths and also pay a visit to the Velorama National Bicycle Museum in Nijmegen.

His drawings, paintings and prints cover the walls of the two stories and basement of the traditional Dutch home that houses the museum.
