The tour was well-organized, and we loved that it was all-inclusive—delicious wines, cheeses, fresh oysters, and so much more along the way. The scenic views of Setúbal and Arrábida were breathtaking, and our guide was both knowledgeable and friendly, making the entire day feel personal and relaxed. The highlight was definitely the incredible wines we tasted—each one better than the last! It’s the perfect blend of nature, food, and wine. We truly had a blast and highly recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful scenic day trip! Even though it was March, the water was pretty calm. The views were amazing and I also learned quite a bit about the region and vegetation. The Tour Guide (Joao) was also incredibly kind and funny and helped everyone overcome their vertigo. - Trip6237301 contributionAmazing boat ride, dolphins galore! We had them swimming alongside us and could even hear them clicking. Our guide was very informative and was giving the same great experience for the multiple different languages spoken on the boat, mainly french and English for our group. The trip was topped off by visiting some lovely sesimbra sites and caves as well as us having a dip at Ribeiro de Cavalho. - Katie MLondon, UK2 contributionsWe had the most amazing trip! The guides are friendly, knowledgeable and spoke English, French and Portuguese. We saw not only the local dolphin pods but also other ocean dolphins as well as caves, beaches and the beautiful coastline. At one point the dolphins swam right up to us and under boat-breathtaking! We talked about the trip for the rest of the day, but the experience will stay with us forever. - Allyson K5 contributionsA friend and I were staying in Lisbon for a few days and were looking to find a guided tour of the region, and we are so glad we chose this tour – it was by far the best part of our trip! Helena was incredibly considerate and well-equipped in every way – in her car, she had generous amounts of cough drops on hand for my sore throat and made sure to get my friend and I good breakfast of great pastries at the market after hearing we had not eaten yet. She also helped us pick out great gifts for our mothers!
The market was brimming with extremely fresh and local produce, the views were incredible from the drive, and the lunch spot we went to was amazing, my salmon salad was so fresh! Everything we ate was delicious, and everywhere we went was beautiful, and Helena helped us make the most out of everything. Painting tiles was my favorite part, it was fun, relaxing, and educational – you visit one shop to learn how to make the tiles (where you can also buy some) and another to paint. The wine tasting was really interesting, it also included a tour of the grounds and the guide was a historian who taught us so much about both wine-making and Portuguese history.
Lastly, Helena is simply a lovely person to talk to – sweet, kind, and understanding – and her knowledge of the area was really helpful in helping us plan a better trip for the days ahead. - D kNew Ulm, MN8 contributionsThis was an incredible day long tour. Natalia was very responsive to all my questions leading up to the tour. Miguel picked us up right from our VRBO and we were on our way. We went to two different wineries, one of them, newer, and one, one of the oldest in Portugal. Miguel was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. Also a great conversationalist which made passing any time in a vehicle even better.
Miguel was the perfect guide because he not only knew a lot about wine and the wineries We went to, but Portuguese history in general so no matter what we talked about, Miguel provided some great insight for two people who had never been to Portugal before. The wines were incredible and exploring the wineries was amazing. We learned a lot about muscatel, which I had not heard of or drank before. I would totally recommend this tour and can’t wait to do it again with different tours. Next time we are in country.
