All the praise you read about Alex and the tour is more than deserved. I was alone with Alex, when I booked off-season in January (2023). First of all, Alex is one of the most chill, relaxed, and least stressful guy you will ever get to know. In case you reach this tour in a stressed state, be sure to calm down while just having Alex as company.
Then, there is something to know that is difficult to communicate without feeling you can't or shouldn't take the tour, because it may sound strange at first: The bikes Alex gives you are even easier to ride on than the bikes you are used to, because you don't even have to use any pedals! They are special bikes that work fully electrically, just by using the handlebar area. I hardly knew such bikes exist, but within seconds I learned to love them. Just riding this bike itself already made this tour fun for me!
And maybe, maybe, if you are lucky and Alex has the time in his schedule and you are normal to friendly people, he will take you to his friends and give you one of the best times of your life. I myself was lucky enough to meet Alex within the first hours of my stay in Iraklio (not even having checked in to my apartment yet), and had the best start of my vacation one can dream of (including a lot of, no, many lots of Raki... ;)).
I recommend this tour especially for the beginning of your stay in Iraklio, as you get a representative idea of what this beautiful town has to offer, so you can choose according to your taste and desires. Alex is booked up with all the information you need to know, especially in historic terms (without exaggerating), and gives you all the time you need to look at things you are interested in a relaxed way.
