- SchumacherJackTimmins, Canada572 contributionsHere is a long sandy beach that is probably teeming with poplin the high season, however when we walked it, it was quiet except for the lapping of the waves on shore. Quiet and clean for sureWritten 9 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Lucy A2 contributionsI had the best holiday of my life here this August. So much fun, so many brilliant people, incredible food and very beautiful surroundings. I will definitely be going back and will fly direct to Skyros from Athens next time as the transfer from Athens takes a whole day. i cannot recommend this holiday highly enoughWritten 13 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ricky AQiryat Ata, Israel73 contributionsI was amazed of some Bronze age bronze articles, including safery pins very similar to modern ones. Also painted pottery and other small statues etc in very good condition. These are articles of a very progressive civilization 4000-5000 years ago. All the items were excavated in this island.Written 10 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- neumanthFrankfurt, Germany826 contributionsThe kids can also ride them. Nice to see them, and they seem to be looked after. There are volunteers from all over the world working on the farm. So language is no issue.Written 28 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DingoAthens, Greece27 contributionsWe arrived early one morning with our children after touring the island of Skiros following a magnificent road through the woods. There were practically no people at that time and we took a swim in the emerald waters! The children took their masks to explore the underwater. Simply loved it.Do not forget to try the fresh fish in the small taverna restaurant "i kira kali".Written 26 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ricky AQiryat Ata, Israel73 contributionsThis peculiar small churc digged out of a big rock near the sea. Rock formations in the surrounding area in the sea are beautiful to see. There is also a small church on an adjacent island also digged out of a rock, but you can only go there swimming or with a small boat. there are also ancient rock quarry, where the famous red Skyrow marmor was quaried and tranfered by sea to ancient cities for important public buildings, palaces and temples. The area of the quary is clearly visible and identified with the straight lines of the marmor extricated. Some marmor blocks still stand or lie there. The whole experience is worth going there, just a kilometer from the beaches of Skyros and Molos.Written 10 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ΘΕΟΔΩΡΑ Π7 contributionsGreat, secluded location. The waters are crystal clear and the fir trees reach the sea. It has few buildings and an amazing restaurant.Written 18 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Embers78London, UK81 contributionsOMG this was just amazing.
Ok to be clear... this is a monastery, PLEASE dress appropriately, ie cover up as much as possible. This isn't a regular church its important to be respectful. There are signs on the doors asking you to dress appropriately.
Its also a hike up to the top of the hill in the town and not an easy walk if you're not fit or if its wet.
It says its open I believe from 10-11:30 (I didn't go in the morning) and then 18-19:30 which is when I went. Please be advised this is service times.... and a service is actually running during these times, id be respectful and not turn up right at the end, or if you do, please stay in the lower area where you don't disturb the service.. I went for 18:00 and it was welcomed. I was able to sit up in the main section and listen to initially one but then two young men sing and chant in such beautiful tones that I was mesmerised, it was beautiful, there was also the priest who joined in and did his things.
I sat peacefully through the whole 90mins and it was really worth it. I got to see a beautiful service (and I am not religious) and it gave me time to look at the beautiful decor/interior (ive never seen anything so incredible).
At the end the priest spoke to me in greek, one of the other men interpreted and he was asking where I was from. I explained the UK and that I was very thankful to have been part of the service and he thanked me for attending and said it was open to all and I was very welcome.
This is one of those places thats is just so worth seeing, but be respectful!!
I left a small donation in the candle donation pot.Written 13 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. 1. Go to Limanakia, also very beautiful and you park your car very close to the beach.
2. If you still want to visit the Nr.1 beach of the island, then take with you an umbrella and only the absolutely necessary staff!
3. No flip flops for the mountain, take your shoes with you
4. Go early in the morning to avoid high temperatures while walking
But yes, it is a wonderful beach, one of the best I have seen in Aegean Sea (ok, Milos excluded)Written 7 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 334SveinOslo, Norway10 contributionsThe Aspous beach is relevant if you stay at some of the few hotels/studios in the surroundings (e.g. Hotel Dioni). It's covered by fine sand. There are no permanent umbrellas or other amenities. Piles of seaweed cover part of the beach, but there is no rubbish. On good days quite some people enjoy the beach.Written 1 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- elenitsamexGuanajuato4 contributionsInteresting site with good
information in small museum. Road access fair down dirt road. The thousands of wild free range goats were everywhere. Such cute creatures with every single one of them looking different (unlike sheep) with their amazing colours, coat texture and length and of course those gnarly horns. The wild Skyrian Horses that also roam this area free and unfettered, are beautiful creatures and unaffected by our presence. Ahhh, but on to Rupert's Grave. A spectacular setting in a gultch and grove. It's location is a little odd but I guess it gets the tourists, like ourselves, to see some otherwise unvisited land. Definitely worth the effort to get there.Written 8 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
