What travellers are saying
- lorr09Plymouth, UK28 contributionsThese gardens are so well kept and looked after, with signs and information of plants - rare and unusual - signs for the best way to walk around the gardens ensuring you don't miss a thing. The location is stunning, over looking the estuary at Salcome, directly across you can see Gara Rock hotel nestled in the cliff top.
I was lucky enough to visit in early summer and autumn and both experience were delightful. Thank you Overbecks staff.Written 20 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's a mixture to road, track and trail, with natural and manmade steps, and quite challenging in places, especially if there was a wind blowing. In the summer it's doable in trainers, but I really would recommend walking boots for added security.Written 30 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Flossie712015London, UK103 contributionsLovely walk dramatic in places, just beautiful in others. Quite hard in places if taking the coastal path. Easy to find and well trodden path.Written 29 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Geoff165Oxford, UK18 contributionsThis was a really fantastic place but the entire has been knocked down and is being redeveloped for flats. A real shame for Paper Bird Island.Written 4 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- teamironsLondon, UK49 contributionsAlong with the Bolt Head walk this is a must if you are visiting Salcombe. The long way round follows the cliffs and does have significant ascents and descents. Dont believe the signpost at Mill Bay it is not 1.25 miles if you follow the coastal path more like 2.25. But once you reach Gara Rock and have taken sustinence from the pasty van there is a shorter route back. Strong recommend.Written 7 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- AlmondCanaryNorwich, UK17 contributionsOffering fabulous views up and down the estuary, Salcombe really is the very best of Devon. So much to see and do while in a relaxed and laid back setting. For boating, walking, shopping and eating there is little to compare with sensational Salcombe.Written 13 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Simon BDorchester, UK8 contributionsWow! What an experience! Loved the view across the estuary from the bar! Harry was our guide and was very professional, friendly and helpful.
Mixing our brew was interesting and watching the still at work and testing our gin as it dripped out was fascinating. Tasting our finished gin with different mixers and garnishes was an experience in itself. Highly recommend this experience.Written 2 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
