The captain was great and very funny. He made us all feel welcome & the trip was perfect even though the day overcast. The two stops to swim allowed us to explore the coast and really felt secluded. The seating is comfortable and you get a gorgeous view on the way out and back. Complimentary refreshments and fruit provided as well as items to help you float/swim if needed. - dpceluchWatertown, MA17 contributionsI really enjoyed this tour, but with traffic delays and a questionable last stop, know that it can turn into a very long day. We were given free time to wander around each city on our own, which I enjoyed. Positano is very pretty, as is Amalfi. If you have the chance to take the boat tour in Amalfi, do it. It was a great way to view the area. Our last stop in Ravello was a bit of a bust—I would have preferred extra time in Amalfi and a quick photo stop in Ravello. Our guide, Isabella, tended to keep her comments brief. We had headsets but didn’t really need them. - Sandra C1 contributionThe trip around the Amalfi coast was amazing. Francesca & the skipper were fabulous hosts. The fellow traveler’s were great as well.
I was going to go swimming but decided it would be too cold. Best to see everything from the comfort of the boat!
The lunch provided was very good. We also shared a few bottles of bubbly between us as it was one ladies birthday on that day. Emilio our guide was knowledgeable, funny and we got to have 3 swims along the Amalfi Coast some in a cave. We had the option of having 2 free hours to explore Amalfi Centre before re-embarking and having Proseco and music. Price was affordable and best day of our trip in the Amalfi Coast. - Roving1573 contributionsMauro was an excellent and considerate guide, clear in his presentation and instructions. Francesca who covered the Pompeii visit was also excellent. Neither guide ever rushed us or appeared in a hurry. Unfortunately both guides and the tour group were restricted by the tour company representative allowing someone who had an injured leg encased in a knee high medical boot to participate in a 'walking tour'. Terms and conditions set by the Company for walking tours need to be implemented. - Kristianne K1 contributionOur boat tour with Alfonso was first rate. He stopped along the way to explain interesting features, and was a great host throughout. Our stops in Amalfi and Positano (longer) were the right amount of time in each place. We were more interested in scenery than shops so we hiked in Amalfi. In Positano my husband hiked again, while I enjoyed a late lunch and glass of wine at a restaurant that overlooked the beach and boats (the others ate sandwiches Alfonso provided). Here is what we brought in a backpack for our trip: lightweight jackets (only needed till the sun came out), sunscreen and hats, swimsuits and a camp towel in ziplock bags. We had a fun and refreshing swim off the boat on the return trip, and enjoyed a nice and unexpected treat before coming ashore. Luigi is the best captain ever. I had so much fun the first day, I booked it the next day. - doylebPhoenix, AZ69 contributionsThis is a long trip from Rome (14 hours) and we were lucky the traffic on the Amalfi coast was not bad. Our driver Max did an excellent job getting us there and around the narrow roads on the coast safely. JP our guide did a good job but it would have been nice to have a bit more history and information on the areas we drove through. I would chalk that up to his lack of sleep, having worked 6 straight days with minimal sleep between tours. Our tour guide in Pompei (Hector) did an excellent job and for a man his age (older then me) it was hard to keep up with him sometimes !
Pompei was amazing, Positano and Amalfi were interesting and the scenery on the coast was breathtaking.
