- magjo12Atlanta, GA54 contributionsSuch a delightedly was to spend an afternoon and taste some very nice wines. Would definitely recommend a tasting or, at the least, a visit.Written 30 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janet MCordova, TN657 contributionsWe had a guided sightseeing tour of this charming little Alsace town in August 2021. This was an Avalon Waterway river cruise optional excursion. As we wandered through the street, we came across the following: the Six Buckets Well (1579), the Kappelturm Belfry (197 foot/60 meters high), the Town Hall (from 1370), the old Corn Exchange Market (dating back to 1554), the half-timbered homes, the St. Odile fountain at the center of the Market Place, the St. Pierre and St. Paul Church, and the town's fortifications, which include 20 towers and 4 gates. Good tour, but it was extremely hot the day we were there.Written 24 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mini_d51Sydney, Australia495 contributionsOne of the many Gothic churches spread through this region of France. Lovely windows and altar. The church is located a minute’s walk from the main square.Written 17 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yajiv VDomene, France2 contributionsMy wife & I visited Obernai & found it to be a wonderful place. The Tourist Office people were extremely knowledgeable of the History & gave us good inputs about the same. Visited historical spots because of it & my wife was particularly pleased with the Artistic activity the area offers as a musician herself. She will be in touch too. Needless to say the Tourist Office gave us great places to eat & discover regional specialities as it was our first time in this region.
We would however like to share a rather bad experience at the Hotel La Cour d'Alsace - this place certainly seems to have seen better days but is now run unprofessionally and should be watched by local authorities or better avoided. In- experienced Receptionists have a run of the place. Hope our ordeal at the Spa is not ever repeated on other travellers. Rude- They took the payment but do not give the Bills till today. .
This can be a big reason not to come to Obernai but we will return once the Hotel issue is resolved.

I found it moving, particularly if you take time to check out the history behind the deaths on the eastern front. The views are some of the best to be had in Obernai. Walking up gives one a sense of well being but the memorial is accessible both by car or tourist train.Written 24 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Faith_and_MeBrisbane, Australia386 contributionsWent here for a tasting with a large group. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. I think there was 3 generations of the family there to help. Wines were delicious, especially the Gewurztraminer, it was fantastic. The sparkling was also very nice. Got a couple of bottles to enjoy before going home.Written 19 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - UveOOmer, Israel181 contributionsObernai as a whole is a lovely small city with its old buildings . We were in this are during a festival in june. The marketplace is magnificent with the buildings and the fountain sitting in the middle. You can travel back in time if you have a bit of imagination and you can cut out the noise.Written 21 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dringdilaraBussum, The Netherlands214 contributionsThe synagogue testifies to the town's Jewish past, which fortunately has not been interrupted by 1940-45. It is a still active synagogue, of simple beauty.Written 7 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
