What travellers are saying
- Anthony AChelmsford, UK153 contributionsLoads of activities to keep all happy or just walk round the paths which cost you nothing. Good clean toilets at Casino end and cafes never far away.Written 18 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cl.ffLenningen, Luxembourg28 contributionsNice to have a birds view on Gérardmer Lake. In summer it can take some time to get up as queues can be long.Written 10 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cl.ffLenningen, Luxembourg28 contributions…but once you're up there, legs get shaky. What a day. Lots of different routes, some even a bit more technical. Nice mix between rocks and trees and some huge zip lines. I can only recommend.Written 10 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sjakie57Haarlem, The Netherlands119 contributionsThis waterfall is pretty nice, not too big but impressive enough still in august. The entire forrest is beautiful, enchanting even sometimes, so I highly recommend hiking there! If you’re in decent condition it’s very doable (we saw a lot of kids also), but be sure to put on your hiking shoes, because there are a lot of rocks and tree roots to climb over and it get can get very slippery and muddy on the tracks. We saw some signs on the way, but I don’t think you can really rely on them, some people asked us for directions. We used a good navigation app to get around. We’ll probably have aching muscles tomorrow, but it’s totally worth it!Written 10 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MataiworldFrance233 contributionsWe’ve been several times as day trips. I recommend Gerardmer for people like us who enjoy getting out and breathing the fresh air with no challenging slopes. Picturesque lake views and tree lines slopes. It’s a family friendly resort too if you have little ones. We just love the fact it’s super cheap. Very pretty. Groomed slopes with plenty of parking. The only things to be aware of :
1.The steep drive up to the parking. On an icy or heavily snowy day it’d be problematic
2. There are no on piste restaurants, just a simple restaurant at the base.
3. Advanced skiers might get bored (I guess. I’m not advanced 🥴)
4. It’s a low ski area. 1000ft or so. Check conditions before you go as it can get slushy. They do have snow makers but if the slopes warm up .... Just something to keep in mind.Written 22 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's just by the roadside a short drive out of Gerardmer so really easy to find. Bought lots of slices of different smoked hams (none of the munster though as we are due to visit the Munster museum later!) and the cheeses looked delicious. They even have a little selection of wines <3 Worth stopping by to get yourself some snacky sliced meats or a bigger piece to take home.Written 8 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sjakie57Haarlem, The Netherlands119 contributionsThis waterfall is a little bit bigger than Saut de la Bourrique, but I liked them equally. It’s also a bit busier, so if you’re hoping for some alone time with a waterfall it’s best to go to Saut de la Bourrique. Or even better, visit them both! - Ralf KKarlsruhe709 contributionsI would not have thought that Gérardmer has such a big church - but there it was.
