This a lovely reserve just out of Currarong that offers good walking, excellent bush and coastal views and a shipwreck ('The Merimbula', 1928) to top things off. And when you return from your bushwalk you can have a dip at Abraham Bosom's Beach, a sheltered and safe swimming spot (not patrolled, though). There had been quite a bit of rain not long before we took our stroll, so track was pretty muddy with big puddles in parts. So, we didn't do the full 6 km circuit, only getting to Lobster Bay. I'd highly recommend having a look: it is an isolated, unspoiled and beautiful spot but I would not recommend for swimming. Same no-swimming tip goes for Wilson's Beach. The highlight of our walk though was the short Wreck track, not so long so enjoyed by the younger members of our group and with many broken up bits and pieces of the Merimbula still wedged between the rocks on the point, nearly 100 years after the ship went down. A real piece of history we could clamber around.

A great camping or day trip option. Nice calm bay for swimming. Make sure you check opening times on the website before you leave home.

Point Perpendicular lies within the Beecroft Peninsula weapons range controlled by the Dept of Defence, so the site is not always accessible to the general public. Once inside the Defence area, you drive down a 10 km gravel road that takes you to the 'North Head' of Jervis Bay. Point Perpendicular is well named, as it surrounded by steep cliffs down that plunge straight down about 100m to the ocean below. There were lots of rock climbers testing their skills here when we visited. The lighthouse at the point is impressive enough, though it's not open to the public, but we definitely thought the highlight was the views, across to Bowen Island and the 'South Head' of Jervis Bay and out across the Tasman Sea (as well as straight-down for those bold enough to scramble to the cliff edge). We had a lovely summer's day with clear skies - perfect weather.

An easy 30 minute walk in to Gosangs Tunnel from Abrahams Bosom beach car park at the end of Currurong township. I found gloves and knee pads helpful on the 20 metre crawl through the tunnel/cave.
Turn right after crossing the timber bridge over the estuary. Follow signs to Marion’s Way and Mermaids Inlet. Check the metal map en route to find a small notch scratched onto the map almost at 8. Mermaids Inlet - this marks the location of the cave (not written on map). Take Gosangs Tunnel track when signed and then take right fork after one minute.
We were well rewarded by fantastic sandstone cliffs and breathtaking breaking ocean waves on exiting the tunnel.

A short drive through Beecroft Penisula and you hit this gorgeous hidden gem. Travel 100m down the board walk tot he sand from the car park and you are in heaven. Not as popular as the other beaches in the area which makes it a winner for us. Perfect for beach picnics with the little ones having small waves and secluded wind breaks.

Do not miss this place on any account --if you can get hold of its owner Michael, that is. Makes the most spectacular shiraz and (sometimes) cabernet wines in his ...garage! He got scored 92 points by Robert Parker himself, will you believe, on some of his vintages, and one can taste that too. We had the privilege of a full range tasting, some of his world class shiraz 2003 (no longer available on the open market, alas) and went away happily with a case of his other nectars

Booked a one on one lesson for my 11 year olds birthday present as she has been watching lots of teen surfing shows and nagging us for a surfboard. Loved the lesson with Lauren and had a smile on her face the whole time. Lauren was very patient and encouraging.
