Nice place to hiking and adventure ♥️ Long trails and existing ☺️ You should visit one time in your life. Camping place is so good, but no hot water. Good is a bit expensive, because they carry everything up to hill. It reasonable!

Beautiful view of the mountains and the Mekong river! Go early in the morning to see the fog over the mountains.
You cannot go all the way to the mountains with your own car. You can buy tickets for transport which will bring you to the top of the mountain.

I enjoyed 2 nights in Chiangkhan and the walking street market was fun to walk around. I tried many different foods from the friendly vendors and enjoyed the atmosphere. Can take nice photos.

We came for the sunset and enjoyed the walk up for the last part in fresh clean air. Took about 10 minutes to walk slowly. There are toilets on the way but I saw no toilet at the top. On the way down we took the shared vehicle for 10 Baht each person. Entrance ticket 40 Baht. Car park fee 30 Baht. Saw about 10 other tourists. I heard that the sunrise view is better.

When Loei people invite tourists to go “rafting,” they aren’t talking white water in raging rivers. They mean flat boats made with bamboo moored in the center of a placid lake. The experience is actually very relaxing and quite soothing during the hotter months. In addition to a nice view, there is a constant, subtle breeze to keep you cool and keep the insects at bay.

We always combined our trips with a meal - the restaurant will bring the food out to you.

If you visit Loei, definite accept an invitation to go “rafting.”

There is no shortage of beautiful Wats in Loei, and this is one of the most beautiful. If you like taking photographs of tranquil temple cats, this is the place to go. Much of the Wat and surrounding garden elements are modern, brick structures. Be sure to walk around the grounds.

There was a big footprint in this temple which local believe is the footprint of Buddha. After paying respect in the temple, we walk around and found a mini zoo beside. It house rabbit, pig, chicken and turtle. The rabbit farm is fun. Hundred of rabbit inside and when you buy some food from the table outside, they are so smart that all surrounding you even before you show the food. They will follow you, climb to your palm as long the food is there.

There is a main pavilion with three Bhudha statues inside; Bhudha Chaimongkol, Bhudha Sanemongkol and Bhudha Chokmongkol. names of Bhudha represent good words for winning, good luck.
This temple has a spot to see Mae Khong river. It is really peaceful and good for meditation.

Attractive views of the Mekong River and across to Laos, with majestic mountain in the background. There are many shops at the site also, and it looks like it could be crowded on weekends (at least after the pandemic passes), but when we were there, only a few visitors were milling about. We bought a few items to try to inject some cash in the local economy.

We spent 2 days experiencing all of the amazing festivities of the Phi Ta Khon. Lots of incredible Phi costumes and wild dancers! High energy Thai music but extremely LOUD!!! I am glad that I had ear plugs in my bag to protect myself from the extreme decibel levels! The parade was very long too, lasting several hours with hundreds of dancers and Thai performers.

Stunning place away from the normal crowds of tourists. The rock formations and vistas here are very intriguing, This is a great place to go hiking, exploring, and there is a great opportunity to climb to the top of great vistas.

There are so many things to see her. Although its a bit of a Buddhist theme park the modern sculptures are all very high quality. The crocodiles (holding the pearl of wisdom in their jaws, the white Lady of Mercy stature and even a bronze coloured formidable hulk (oh and I nearly forgot the two splendid elephants to the right of the main temple. Both kids and photographers will find their heaven here'

I really enjoy field trips to Phu Thok. It is a great attraction to take visitors to Loei Province. Really spectacular when the fog is blanketing the valleys between the mountains.

(The seaside photo is wrong here! Dansai is in the mountains.)
Definitely a place worth stopping in otherwise quiet Dansai.
We were there on a full moon, and they were preparing for a special ritual.
The chedi is Lao style as I was told, inside the next door building there's a special golden (Naga) Buddha statue.
    Excellent toilets on the grounds.

Bumpy ride whole route from Loei but better from Rong Kla side which I took from 5 years ago. However, there is worth to visit when full bloom of cherry blossom.
