- betty lBrampton, Canada10,507 contributionsWe revisited this place in October. This was our 3rd visit and our 2nd time to do the Cranberry Plunge. This is one of the best places to enjoy wine and a unique experience of wading in a pond full of cranberriesWritten 1 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - theoljohnnyboyNew Florence, PA1,604 contributionsThe park is tranquil and quiet, the water is incredibly clear, and the little island with its bridges are quite picturesque. When on the island the bugs are few and far between. When you are in the woods, the bugs are insatiable biters. We had bug spray with DEET in it and we still got bit all over. Consider long sleeves, long pants and a net hat until you get to portions of the park that are more forgiving. Portions of the trail through the woods are swampy with standing water in close proximity to the trail, so be prepared for detours around these swampy spots. We began to pick up substantial sticks that we encountered to use as walk boards because some spots had no good way around them. We parked at the end of hardy lake road closest to the island. Be aware that there is only room for 2-3 cars here.Written 22 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DontStopExploringWinnipeg, Canada2,351 contributionsBeautiful views over Muskoka Lakes. A bit uphill to get the heart rate pumping for a bit and then levels out with some up and downs. Highly recommend.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Indah EdlightzOntario, Canada4,521 contributionsThe Kee is legendary and one of the best places to see a concert but its changing a bit just like Bala has changed over the years. The place is still great but staff is not very nice which takes away from the experience of what this place used to be. Can't wait for 2024 concerts to start. - Alkesh CLondon, UK86 contributionsIdeal for place for stargazing. Note the drive once off the main highway (on Southwood Road) will take some time as there is no street lighting. Expect to be driving 50 - 60 KPH for about 30 mins.
Torrance Barrens has a small main car park (there maybe an overflow car park but we didn't spot one). The car park has 2 portable toilets.
On the night we went, although a clear night, we discovered that a professional camera was required to capture the stars. Unfortunately a smart phone will not cut it.Written 6 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ZeusthecockapooBarrie, Canada4,802 contributionsSurprised this isn't a better known area, nice easy hiking trail with pretty scenery and featuring an impressive waterfall to boot. Road access is well maintained and parking is also ample for visitors. This was formerly a fish hatchery and there are still some interesting remnants of its former use such as the embankments along the river (former holding pools). The waterfall is located in a wooded area along the trail and it is possible to get right up next to it for impressive photos. Lots of waterflow even in summer too. The area is also a wildlife magnet and I spotted many bird species including a group of wild turkys strolling by during my visit.Written 28 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
