It is quite a huge Buddhist complex, probably funded by the local Chinese community.
The Front is the Tua Pek Kong temple, it is in a traditional South China building with a central courtyard and a main deity praying halls.
Behind the TPK Temple, what look like a newly constructed Great Buddhist Hall, go up the stairs to the main prayer halls, there are 3 huge Buddha statues inside. Chants are playback on the speaker.
Please be respectable and dressed decently when visiting as it is a local religious place.Written 7 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Josephine LeeSingapore, Singapore250 contributionsThis market is conveniently located opposite the Grand Batam mall. Just cross the road from the main entrance and walk 2 minutes. You can get hay bee , ikan billis , peppers etc. Prices are much cheaper than Singapore .
We bought hay bee for S$25 per kilo and $20 per kilo for ikan bilis . Silver fish was $10 per kilo.
Outside the wet market ,there was a row of wholesale shops selling masks - 3 ply mask was $ 2 per packet of 50, Korean popped out mask was $4 for 50 pieces . They also sold children’s toys and many handbags . There were also shops selling beads and threads .
Overall a great place to buy dried goods .Written 11 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - han lSingapore, Singapore188 contributionsIt is very local and it would be better if you go with research on what you may want to get!
The shops basically sell similar things and you can just compare the prices and tastes for the keropok etc, Wh could be bought in shopping Malls as well.
Unless u have a purpose like bird nest etc, I would give it a miss.Written 1 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RichardTanChaiBoonSingapore, Singapore777 contributionsReturned to this branch after my last visit in Mar 2017. The place still looks the same in a good way. It is well maintained and still looks good and clean. The counter staff, Mira was very helpful and explained to us the various massage packages.
There were five of us and all enjoyed our massage.
Each time I come to Reborn, I feel like reborn again. Felt very relaxed after the massage.
