There are more levels to this building than you would imagine at first sight. Each level takes you through a different era in local history and culture. I thought I would really only enjoy the remains of the baths themselves but there really is a lot more to see than just those.

The fact that a relatively small town boasts such an impressive museum is down to the simple fact that Rafael Zabaleta loved his native Quesada. Many of the pictures feature the town and its agricultural surroundings.
If the name doesn’t ring a bell, think of early Picasso and you’ll have some idea. They were friends.
There are two more salons in the gallery: one is devoted to temporary exhibitions and the other to the poetry and tragically truncated life of local poet Miguel Hernández.
Holidaying frequently in this region, we’ve visited the museum three times (the later visits with friends and family). The reception is always warm and the prices are very good. It’s free for teachers - and you don’t have to bring pupils with you - what’s not to like?

An excellent, well curated and installed display of a remarkable range of artefacts and reconstructed sites from an area rich in prehistoric, iberian, roman, visigothic, moslem and medieval materials. Highly recommended.

Jaen, basically a very quite and almost "sleeping town". But what architectural wonders! Narrow, steep cobbled streets; whilst walking up you "huff and you puff", but you just cannot ignore the historical beauty surrounding you. Take some time out...from your busy schedule and carry couple of bottle of water and just walk up and down, up and down this magnificent quarter. It is worth it, but only for those physically able and interested in local architecture.

Nice little museum which is part of the castle. Well presented and you've got the tour of the castle as well.
    Magnificent views over the town.
You can do the visit in 30 minutes.
20 minute walk up to the castle.

Superb pottery, and you can see an artist at work. You can spend 5 euros or 5000 euros. Or you can just enjoy the experience.

Unassuming entrance with a knowledgable and enthusiastic host. Surprising depth of history with examples of local handicrafts. Art exhibition space in the top floor and cellar for events. Thank you for opening especially for us! We really enjoyed it!

Most interesting specially considering that Linares is not a well known tourist centre. Linares is an excellent base to visit the area, including Baeza, Ubeda and Baños de la Encina.

Great presentation and video about olive trees and olive oil production. Didn't realize there were so many varieties or the sheer number of olive trees and the fact that some are hundreds and a few even thousands of years old.
We had a great tasting and learned the different sales labelling, now converted to strictly extra virgin.
