- MP in PerthPerth, Australia59 contributionsOn my visit to Bunbury, and as I enjoy wandering and hiking around, I walked around the entire estuary on both sides. This tour will invariably bring you to the Mangrove Boardwalk, which will provide you with some pleasant surprises. The Mangrove Boardwalk does indeed wind its way in and around the mangroves, however, there is much more to see. Bunbury seems to intrinsically understand its nature and wildlife, and it goes to great lengths to protect and promote them the like. On my walk, I actually saw what appeared to be a very large "sea hawk" mother flying into feed her chick. Bunbury has two tall roosts set up for them (i.e. that I could note). Once you have hiked the Mangrove Boardwalk back towards the DDC and come out onto the paved path again, be sure to look left and up! Perhaps you will see them or even better, you may find other interesting things in the mangroves...Written 17 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David ClarkeListon, Australia9 contributionsUnfortunately a couple of the galleries were closed when we visited. Some of the art work was exceptional, especially some of the wooden pieces. In my opinion it was better than the Perth art gallery, which was very disappointing.Written 27 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Queenbess67Western Australia, Australia58 contributionsThe Hollow has improved so much over the years, we really enjoy coming here now. The food is lovely, the drinks are cold, the sunsets are awesome.
The only down fall is the cigarette smoking under the outdoor area. Part is non smoking, and part is smoking....unfortunately the wind doesn't stop at that imaginary line, and a lot of smokers don't care if you are eating, or have kids with you!
This place would be a 5/5 if the whole balcony was non smoking😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀Written 27 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is easy to get lost on the trails so google finder/maps or a hand map of the trails would be beneficial.
