- Roxane E1 contributionIf you don’t go horseback riding you are left at an island for 5 hours with nothing to do. You will be paying to sit in the sun or going swimming which can be done at the resort for free. Hard to get pictures as the put so many people on a boat and eco is in everyone’s way. Photographer doesn’t take pictures so if you don’t get any you are out of luck. We booked it through TripAdvisor, they confirmed the tour & picked us up on time from the hotel in a van, took us to the port & sailed to the whales’ sanctuary. It was amazing! We almost touch them, we were really closed to them. Then, we went to the Cayo Levantado, had lunch: delicious, stayed on the beach, saw dolphins too! Excellent experience! - Michele C1 contributionThe best place to ride! Easy to book and arrange exactly what I wanted. Nicole (owner) of Rancho Playa communicates with you promptly. Natalie was our guide for the 2 hour beach/jungle ride. Both ladies are professional, educated, friendly and fun! When my friend and I arrived they helped fit us with helmets and told us a bit about the horses we would ride. The horses are trained properly and taken care of very well. The tack fit each horse comfortably; was clean and in great condition. During our ride Natalie would point out various plant life; tell us about Las Terrenas; give pointers about the horses and always make sure we would okay. Safety of the horses and riders are the priority. The views are incredible! My friend and I are knowledgeable instructors and riders from Canada!
