What travellers are saying
- paolovbossiThe Hague, The Netherlands829 contributionsAs many of other villages in Umbria the main square is the centre of the village. It is very well preserved and it is easy to imagine the life centuries ago.Written 18 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tamara TorresPortland, ME4 contributionsRoberta and Simona are the sisters at the heart of this operation. They are the third generation to produce olive oil on this land and their heart for the craft and passion for their product is infectious. We had a wonderful tour during which Roberta walked us through the whole process of producing this high quality extra virgen, organic, cold pressed oil. We got to see the trees, the mill and the way every part of the olive is used for oil, for fuel and for heat! This fascinating tour was followed by a tasting of the oil-- and many beautiful local foods which helped to highlight the three delicious oils Olio Ronci produces. The bruschetta featured zucchini, tomato, wild asparagus, eggplant, hummus and artichoke, as well as salumi made from pigs raised on the farm, local cheese and wine. It was a wonderful experience for our family (mother and three adult children) during our tour of Umbria. If you are curious about olive oil, small family farms, or just want a delicious experience, I would highly recommend adding this stop to your itinerary!Written 17 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ERIC WKnoxville, TN4,214 contributionsObviously a very old church with absolutely incredible architecture. It’s free admission and the doors were open. There’s also another section that appears to be older that is located down some stairs to the left of the altar. Very worth checking out if you’re in Bevanga for the dayWritten 21 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jmichel02London, UK4 contributionsThis Medieval tour was the first thing we did when we arrived to Gualdo. it had our whole family laughing and learning. It was interactive where they dressed us up in the old gowns (men and women). Once the tour was over we all enjoyed a beautiful meal that was vegan friendly! lovely company and good wine and it was very interesting to learn about Gualdo in that way. Highly recommend!Written 28 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Houlihan2Melbourne, Australia772 contributionsSituated in the Piazza Filippo Silvestri, which is Bevagna's main piazza, this church has beautiful old carved wooden entrance doors under an ornate marble archway. The most striking aspect as you enter the church is the elevated altar which sits some 12 white marble steps higher than the church floor. There are two columns of arches on either side of the church, which are supported by columns of pale pink stone. There must have been a wedding in the church recently, because there were bunches of gypsophila tIed onto the ends of alternate pews. This was a lovely light-filled space.Written 13 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dpm1 contributionThe guide is a know it all and his humour on the degenation of culture makes the visitors widely uncomfortable (we took the tour in Italian). We han an awful experience and I am not sure the guide is licensed. He gave us no receipt.Written 31 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ERIC WKnoxville, TN4,214 contributionsIf you’re in Bevanga for the day this church is worth your time. Doors were open and admission is free. Incredible architecture with some incredible designs on the ceilingsWritten 21 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IntimatetravellerBrisbane, Australia289 contributionsA great little town to explore with an even better restaurant "Serpillo", you will see the restaurant near the village entrance. It is close to Bevagna and Montefalco. The town does have some accommodation and the people are friendly.Written 14 November 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Johndot_12Salisbury, UK308 contributionsUnimpressive at first view with a car park outside the wall, but worth stopping to have a good look. You walk through into an emerging long thin square from where Bevagna opens up in a number of directions. If you return the same way you get a completely different perspective on the Porta which seems lighter and more welcoming. I love this area and square and always part nearby to have the pleasure of entering Bevagna this way!Written 26 April 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
